We paid 60sols for a matrimonial. A clean large room at the front. where able to store our cycles in the garage. shower super hot in the evening, cooler in the morning, think its solar heated. very comfortable mattress. Smart TV way better than normal In a hotel of this price. Quiet overnight. WiFi brilliant, our room was next to reception so that probably helped. Definitely recommend.

Not accessible this time for my vehicle. The dirt road turns into an impassable soft slushy snowy mound about 4.5 KM from the location.

Very nice place next to the ocean. You wake up with the sounds of the birds and fisherman. Only the road is bad.

The Chem. Robichaud Dirt Road was a bit rutted, flooded, and some Sandy bits. Any worse and I wouldn't have gone further in. That said, a beautiful place, Varies places along that dirt road one could stop if you have a vehicle that can go in. Clearqnce required. The area has a long sandy beach that goes up and down the coast. There are some rivers that flow into the ocean and some established areas that have been used for campfires along that dirt road. I stayed for a few days and would have stayed longer but for the forecast of Rain over the next few days and I was worried I might not be able to get back out. One person on a quad came by one night, otherwise didn't see a soul. Some visitors to the main parking area off the Asphalt portion of the Chem Robichaud Road.

Great spot nestled in the hills. very close to the highway but we arrived late and noise didn't disturb us at all, plus the river acting as the natural white noise. Beautiful stars. don't forget to take your trash away, pack out your toilet paper, fair amount of TP lurking in the bushes which is never nice in such a lovely spot.

Asked a Walmart employee and they said they allow overnight parking, just to park in the back of the lot. At 10pm a whole bunch of teenagers (at least 20) parked right next to us and were doing donuts. Had to move to the other side of the lot. They ended up leaving around 11:30pm. Other than that it was great, just don’t get why they’d go near a clearly set up rv while majority of the lot was completely empty…

Heads up to anyone attempting to drive this route: Most definitely high clearance required, 4x4 very helpful. we came from the south entrance off Mex 1. Very slow staggered whoops/ deep ruts and large washboards. One spot we almost turned around at, about 10km from the canyon. deep 2-3ft ruts/ holes going down a hill, no way around. Lifted 4x4 f150 with camper has never been so flexed lol. Added a photo which doesnt really do justice. Another spot north of the canyon had us questioning if we can pass as well. Do able with a 4x4 high clearance as long as you know how to drive and choose the right line. Assuming the road has washed out since the last addition to this area.

No longer free.. we were here last May and there was no fee, now says $15/night. Still no water, but there is a dumpster now. Was an amazing free site, now an alright paid site lol. Still quiet & calm, no complaints - just important to know it is now a paid site.

Note that in order to exit Chile, you need a salvo conducto. You can get this online. Problem is that, when you chose the region where you exit Chile (Aysén Province), the Lago Verde/Las Pampas border does not appear. We therefore thought that we don’t need a salvo conducto. But you do. The carabinieri at the border told us simply chose another crossing from the list.

While still visible from the road, no traffic at night. The wind was crazy until about 9pm, but then completely calm all night.

We took water from the lake to fill the water tanks so we could take a shower and wash the dishes. Beautiful place but unfortunately it had a lot of garbage and became an open-air bathroom! Please collect your trash and bury the shit!

There are water pumps near the gas pumps. Stayed here near a grassy area for a night to pass over the high winds. Workers were all nice, mostly truckers park and stay.

Large gravel parking lot, sloping slightly towards the river. No amenities at all. Very quiet and dark. A few locals cruised by before dark, otherwise just the occasional barge chugging by. Good cell reception (Mint/T-Mobile). Could get busy here in the summer with boats and trailers so maybe park away from the ramp.

- Price: We paid 6000 pp per night.

- Bathroom & Shower: Not the cleanest and you may need your own TP but there are flush toilets and the shower has hooks to hang clothes and toiletries.

- WiFi: Quite good; 45mbps download and 4mbps upload speeds in the common area.

- Other things to note: There is plenty of room and we were the only ones here for our first night. Some of the sites have electricity which did not cost extra. There is a kitchen that you're free to use as well as a common dining area with a few tables and chairs. The caretaker, Sergio, is on site and has a friendly dog named Kona.

Arrived around 5 or 6pm, met Alo very nice guy. Asked the girl running the store next door where to go exactly and she helped me out. Perfect place to stay before crossing or after crossing the border. There are also pillars you can use a hammock on. Pupuseria down the street was also tasty. Like other comments mentioned, there is road noise so have earplugs. Thanks Alo!
