Great spot handy for Tetons, the upper campsites not open yet but space on the gravel area, got very crowded so arrive about 5pm to get a spot.

A roadside pull out on forestry land, used rather extensively and with room for up to three cars/vans or a large RV. Some forest trails on either side of the road but no areas large enough for tent camping. Sadly a fair amount of garbage from previous occupants including an abandoned BBQ and bicycle.

Adjacent to a road that ends in the Sultan Lake recreation area, but that area closes at 10PM so traffic should lessen after then.

A series of wild campsites on public land along the road and river. 5 sites total, each with area for a tent pad, a fire ring/pad, and excellent opportunity for hammock use. Each has a pull out that fits 1-2 cars or a van. One site (pictured) also had a log bridge across the river to a site, although the lack of hand rails can make it treacherous.

These sites are well loved, please pack out garbage!!

This is also a good boondocking spot as already noted. Pleasant area with lots of room and no signage indicating parking limitations. GPS location in the more common style is N 36.676176, W 101.469360; elevation is 3690’.

Nice flat spot down a side road by Cottonwood creek. There are two possible spots along the side road. Calm and far enough away from the main road to feel private. However, this looks like it's been used as a horse camp with feed and horse manure everywhere. -1 to horse packers who don't clean up after themselves.

Used it as last resort because Owl Creek was still closed, all other CoE parks around were either closed, or no camping (Iron Bridge) or were asking whooping 40 dollar per night (are you crazy? what for?).

Here the price is 25 USD which is also too high, but at least in theory they had primitive places (which are closed now due to flood again), those would be 12.

Anyway, I have spent a lovely evening in the park, arrived after hours, walked a bit the trails, used hot shower (feels so good!), exchanged books on the mini-library in the park and found some geocaches. State Police was friendly, ranger which was patrolling the area in the morning (around 6:30-7am) is not so friendly. He started to ask about "permit", "why are you parking here" and other bs. Man, I have no idea what you are talking about, the guy from State Police pointed me here and said to check-in in the morning. done.

Anyway, I liked the place, wish they open primitive places again...

Overnighted here. The road noise is loud because it is right off the interstate. The facilities are pretty nice, really. Nice restrooms available all night. During the day, the visitor's center is open and the workers were very friendly.

Sadly the water is not running, probably because we are a little early in the year. But very nice spot with swimming area in the lake and picnic tables.

ok for a night, we came on a Saturday and the traffic didn't fully die down until around 11pm. lots of people coming to view the sunset/sunrise. had a couple of cars of drunk people visit around 10 but they left after a little while. lots of traffic noise, but the view is lovely and works for a night.

Free camp spot with many fireplaces, trash bins and an improvised (dirty) pit toilet. Currently hike in and tent only since the access road (200 m before the camp area) is flushed away. You may enter with a bicycle or a light motorcycle.
Beautiful place at the waterfall and perfect for swimming.
Access from South (Postrervalle) or North (Samaipata) is 4x4 only when wet (thick mud).

Good hotel in this little town, busy and noisy with the truck traffic but a nice and warm place to rest after and before going on Great Divine again, many shops and restaurants and nice people. The hostal has a roof terrace with big sinks to make a good clothes wash. They are not used to have cyclists but they allowed me to take my bike in the room. You might ask to put them on the roof terrace. I paid 50 soles. I did not want to ride back the heavy traffic road to the Rio Blanco curve before heading towards Tanta so I asked a taxi to take me back there. 35 soles for one at 6 AM. Taxis or combis go through the street just in front of the door, just ask

Stayed here one night along with a big class A. No one bothered me. the parking lot in the side in front of Tim Hortons and the circle k is pretty small so I parked behind Walmart on the North side.

An important detail for those with pets: this is the location where I had to both check my dog out of El Salvador and into Honduras. I went through the entire immigration and TIP process on both sides of the border and then had to loop back here. The other place was closed. I don't know if that's a Sunday thing or a forever thing, but it's worth asking about while you're here for the TIP, because I ended up getting blocked from going back out the same way I came in by some idiot with a whistle, and it caused a lot of hassle and confusion for many people, and well over an extra hour of delay. I ended up sleeping at the fuel station instead of the hot springs because of it.

Possibility to spend the night on the grass parking lot. We were all alone, quiet in the evening. There are toilets and 1 shower. We paid 50Q for two adults and two children per night. There is a restaurant.
The road to it is perfectly manageable. We don't have a 4x4. There is a bit of unpaved road, after which the track is OK again. To get to the domain it is uphill. We managed it with our campervan.
The coffee tour with Liesbeth Melissa was very interesting, afterwards we did the zipline, which was fun! For (almost) all ages. We were well guided.
Definitely recommended!
