Chef Marcos Barbier drives a chef driven restaurant with local ingredients. We had trout, chicken pesto and salad and two very nice glasses of wine for $20usd per person. Open for one lunch and dinner. Convenient on street parking.

Marcos speaks English and helped us find cash at a local gas station (put it on ioverlander).

A great all around stop for us.

Six site campground. Pit toilet. No water. They are adding some canopies I’ve picnic tables and adding fire pits. Great view if Wind River Range across reservoir. No bugs on this windy cooler spring day.

We camped outside and had access to the kitchen, super clean bathrooms w hot shower and very comfortable common areas. We paid 50r each including our Land Cruiser. Flat parking, no height restriction. Limited room, maybe two cars.

Rooms are available at 70-90r per person.

You can park here for w4 hors. They charged me 45000 pesos per night. It has camera and is attended by guard 24/7.

As explained place is beautiful and well maintained. Don came to warm welcomed us. He show us his map dotted with different narionalities and invite us to write in his guest's book. Beautiful sun set as we werw very Lucky with a sunny but cold [6° C.) day

It's a sport complex with swimming pool. You can take a great shower for just 900 CLP!

Great place to have a meal, restaurant is a cozy area on a 2nd floor with awesome views where Doña Julia will always receive you with great food.
Right now is about $130 pesos for soup, main and water.

Totally recommended for a stop while crossing the Sierra.

No one was here. It’s just a parking lot and it was quiet. Has a lake.

I can see many people were not enthusiastic about this reserve, but I have to say we really enjoyed it (maybe because our expectations were low? Or maybe because there was barely anyone around)
Basically it is a 30ish km circuit, you follow the tracks to various beaches or viewpoints. We didn't see much wildlife but the landscapes were spectacular! We even found a pink lagoon (also on iOverlander). If you are here outside high season I definitely recommend to drive the circuit. If you plan to do the classic boat tour as well, you can get a ticket for both days of NP entrance for 17soles.

Super cool very bright pink lagoon! You have to go out of the main track to get it but you'll clearly see where it is and you can get here with any vehicle, it's easy!

State to this over it’s 15$ a night now. Plans to build a campground but for now it’s just spots with fire pits.

This road crosses a mine. We were stopped by the guards. Impossible to negotiate. The only road that allows you to bypass the mine is currently cut off. We had to turn around.

Excellent pizzeria! Big and good for a reasonable price! The boss is very friendly and helpful! It's a little difficult to find: you have to enter the patio passing through a café, go to the very back and climb the stairs!

What a surprise when we saw the garden from the road, it was full of tables.
We went there for the lunch, the owner is so nice. They even prepared a veggie alternative without any discussion.

at this YPFB service station after negotiation we were able to load diesel at 4.5 bols per liter directly into the tank. we also loaded a can of gasoline for 4.5 bols per liter. we were there at night around 9 p.m., perhaps easier to negotiate.

Still available. Air conditioned bathroom, with showers and toilets. If you walk up to the marina, go down the steps and turn left. After 100m its in a beige building

For some reason the pin and GPS coordinates were wrong and lead me to a big privately owned pasture an hour away from Goose Pasture. Seems to be in the right place now but I would double check. it's near Monticello

Not the spot with the nicest views but still very nice, and indeed very easily accessible. A gaucho and his dogs passed by in the morning, bien amable.

Still no showers and this probably won't change. We asked how much the price was for a room; 24k, but it's Argentina so this can change tomorrow. We got to take a look in the room which was small but decent. Facilities seem a bit worn down, the entrance hall was a bit misleading. We didn't stay but fair enough price if you need your sulfur fix and don't have a shower in your rig.

This was a super great experience. They are Spanish teachers so they really meet you at your level of Spanish and we had an incredible time. We started at 5 but didn’t leave until 10 after playing games and spending time with their students who live in the house.

We felt super welcome. This one is also cheaper than the other cooking class in sucre. This one is 150/pp. We felt it was well worth it, they even sent us home with leftovers.

Intermittent road works still continuing and looks like for the foreseeable future.
Almost all the road was paved/ tarmac.

Friendly guys, but slightly awkward. Felt like something was missing from the tour, but they shared heaps of information about Popayán.

This place is ok. It is a dumping ground for all sorts of waste. Some men arrived in the night to dump a ton of construction waste directly into the river as well.

We definitely got some looks for sleeping there and cooking outside, but no one asked us to leave. We felt safe, but not our favorite spot we’ve stayed at.

Decent town market. We stocked up with fruit and vegetables. Discovered that prices are far cheaper in the Mercamio supermarket in Cali.

Then you can go to la reforma and Creel.
If you are adventurous, this is the way! Off road skills needed. From there, 9h if you go to urique

This is in front peoples homes on a skinny quiet neighborhood street. Don’t park your big ugly truck here.

Pretty good spot. Completely free on the weekends. Extremely close to all the fun stuff and the plaza. At 8am Monday morning we were asked to leave by some ladies saying this parking is privado.

No worries. Pretty quiet and not too bright at night either
