The river is so soothing and when I visited I saw a few people fly fishing, awesome path to walk your dog by the river or to dip your feet in the water. They have some picnic tables. Just a nice place to stretch your legs and take a stroll.

We were set up for sleeping on a forest road and at 18h 2 guadeparques told us that it was too dangereuse and that they would take us back to town to a secure place
apparently a policeman was killed in the area.
We found out later that the Mapuche in the area are causing problems and 3 days ago 3 policemen were killed.

Well developed pull off from NM Rt.4 near mile marker 48. Well marked with sign as SFNF land and no "no overnighting" restrictions. The road that runs to the right leads to many well isolated campsites. Quiet and only a handful of other campers.

Gravel pull off that takes you down along a gravel rd along the Columbia River with a few spots you could wild camp! No no camping signs any where posted and evidence of past visitors (aka trash) I’m gonna start to carry extra garbage bags in my car… please take it with you and keep our lands clean

There are many sites along this road. We stayed at two of them both beautiful. Keep in mind this area is used as target practice. At the two sites we visited there were bullet casings and at one near us there were people shooting into the rock. They stopped shortly after we arrived. Felt safe the whole time. Would stay again.

We get here easy diesel ( infinia or comun ) without any problems and for the normal price. We paid with credit card and he want only see the Passport or ID to check the name. Its ok. We have a typical Motorhome from Germany.
Inside is a small shop ( No Fuji ) with drinks, icecream etc. WiFi with QR Code available. Its fast 👍🏻 Friendly stuff.

The fees were $25/night when I checked in. For Starlink users: there are quite a few trees that can obstruct reception if you are needing to do video meetings. Site #2 in the grass field works great for online meetings. This place is also in the perfect location to enjoy the Canadian Forces Snowbirds spring training

Check if the gate will be open before going. According to the motor vehicle map the gate just past animas lookout is supposed to be open but it is not. Also for my ascent it was mostly washboarded hard and such a pain crawling for miles. GPS assumes you’re going to go 55 on the rd but end up doing 20 so it will take longer than you expect. Regardless, amazing views the entire time. Couple “illegal” spots on the way up.

Este esta ubicado en la calle a 1 cuadra de la iglesia de Alpaneca. En la esquina hay un taller de artesanos, el señor del lugar nos permitió pasar aquí la noche. Lugar muy tranquilo y el centro con su plaza muy bello.

Just a heads up to all van lifers/ camper van owners. in Springfield Illinois it is illegal to park within park boundaries. You will get the cops called on you. It is not something that is sign posted- just be aware.
You may park OUTSIDE of a park on a street and then enter the park- the vehicle is the issue not the people.

Nice little place. Only 7 spots and we took the last one arriving at 4:15pm so arrive early. Otherwise there is Horsethief campground that have a lot of spots. Fits little RVs under 24ft.

I LOVE THIS SPOT!! Perfect in every way. Beautiful views. Easy access road, secluded and quiet. The highway is not far but far enough you don’t hear them. It’s not busy, but you can see them. Level spots. Definitely big enough for a group of campers. 3 bars of solid ATT service. Antenna picked up 13 channels on tv. Would definitely be back here again.
