Good hostel for overlanders. Very good location, very clean, fluent in English and Turkish. We parked in front of the hostel (Sprinter 4x4) and slept in the van. They register your stay officialy . As mentioned before, strongly recommended.

Gate was open and found a nice campspot, in the evening a lady came to collect money. $3 p. p. for camping and $for the car

Found wood for a fire around, ablutions closed and no water around.

Allows overnight parking away from the store. Was about 9 cars n vans here. Very lit up, lots of interstate noise until about 2am. No shade.

Good guest house for 10.000. Spacious clean room with table and sofa. Pit toilet, bucket shower. Had a very pleasant night, wasn't noisy at all like in so many other places here in east africa. Also near the bus station. Friendly staff.

Corrupt police with a fake radar gun! They will make you stop, tell you that you were driving too fast, and ask you for cash. If you insist, they will show you edited footage of your car supposedly speeding. They have a 1990s camcorder taped to a pair of old binoculars on a tripod. What a joke!
To escape the bribe, repeatedly tell them you 1) weren’t speeding, 2) have no cash (important!), and 3) could pay with credit card.
Do NOT agree to go get cash in Mzuzu and then pay at the police station.
I told them I knew their scam, and that we all know I wasn’t speeding, and I don’t carry cash anyway, and most of us tourists pay for our hotels and food with credit card. After 20 minutes of arguing, they let me go.

there is a flat ground designed specifically for camping with a great view. toilets at the visitor center for 5TL. I dont know how much the camping costs or if it is enough to pay for the enterance (350TL). You'll have to ask. we slept 3km down in the grassy area.

we slept near to this place just where the road divides because it is really wide and you can just park on its side. there was heavy rain before we came so the actuall spot was muddy, otherwise it looked like a very nice one. visible from the road but still far enough that you should not be bothered by the occassional vehicle passing by. nobody passed by us at all.

Very quiet place, friendly people.
A pity that this once well-made place is now in decline. There is water, electricity, but no potable or hot water. Toilets are good and well-cleaned though. Use the telephone number to get in touch with the owner, who speaks very good French.
The place is guarded by dogs, but don’t fear: they leave you alone and serve their purpose.

All in all a worthwhile step on the way between Fuiguig and Merzouga.

Nice budget hotel with secure parking. WiFi is quick. They have a restaurant and bar open 0700-1100. Room with 1 bed, two chairs, tv, fan, and private bathroom with hot water start at 2200kes($16.50), but I got it for $12 on booking .com, but I had to pay with a card. They wouldn’t let me pay cash in shillings for the reservation made through booking.
Large gates parking lot with security guards. Even had a canopy by the entrance could park my motorbike in out of the rain.
The hotel entrance is located on an off ramp coming off Muranga road. Tricky to get to if you aren’t coming from the North east.

Still works! Great spot. Very quite experience. Fire department was wraping up a training exersise when we sowed up.

Small farm, very well structured camping. The owner, Mr. Jairo is very friendly. Nice swiming pool, close to the beach, pet friendly, eletricity and water available, kitchen wit all devices (freezer, etc...) and utensils, good Wi-Fi and internet.

Perfect camp with electricity drinkable water, hot shower (even during power breakdown). Really nice staff and good restaurant. We stayed there 10 days. What else?

They filled my German bottles in a short time. They have an adapter but couldn't sell it to me. Maybe the next customer with some more time can ask for it and they make one for you.

Self Service Laundry with excellent location in the city, close to shopping areas, cafes, restaurants and ATM. With an excellent structure, new high quality machines and fair prices. We were lucky enough to meet the owners at the establishment and have a pleasant conversation. We highly recommend it.

Very quiet and peaceful, extremely open with no shade or cover. Super windy while I was there.

Better than we expected. Yes the ablutions are tired and in desperate need of refurbishment however the camp site itself is neat and looked after. We were lucky enough to get campsite 30 which is on the border of the camp with a huge tree for shade. No passing traffic which is great because everyone thinks they are on a racetrack in these camps! Slow down people.
Great access to the gate in the morning to get early entry into Sossuvlei. We spent three nights here. Bar serves fantastic cold beer!

We ate at the restaurant and it was no problem to stay overnight here. Right next to it is a maritime police base and they assured us that everything here would be very peaceful and quiet. And that's exactly how it was.

Quik and easy

parking at Evos fast food and water fountain, luna park. Suitable for cars or vans, not for big trucks. Very busy in the evening, otherwise quiet. Walking distance to the nice market. Or take a stroll along the river. Good Uztelekom reception.

Single room with shared bathroom is 35 soles. It’s a decent but small modern room and clean. Fast WiFi.

I could park my bicycle outside in the garden under a roof, a bit out of side. The gates are closed at night. Not my preferred place to park it. But the lady said it is safe.

Lots of places to camp with privacy. Roads were dry, though I’d avoid area when raining. Three bars for AT&T.
