Take the tank wreck loop and keep on driving. You'll find a clearing on your left, where big machinery has been manoeuvring (so no mines...). In the evening, only 1 truck passed; in the morning nothing. Very quiet at night.

C'est un bon spot, calme, safe et économique. Il est à 500m de la place principale.
Douche chaude.
Ça n'est pas très propre mais ça suffit...
On a rajouté quelques photos ;-)

Some designated dispersed camping area for hunters. On the website it says that it's available only during "hunting season", however there are seasons basically all year except winter. Stayed here with a tent for one night in May and was absolutely alone, not disturbed.

Pleasant pine trees, a lot of frogs during the night.

Only fire pits, no water, no toilets

Great spot, but definitely very "popular".

Crowd is a mixed bag - roll the dice as you see fit. Over 5 days we 1. made fast friends with some nice yachties moored in the bay and some lowkey campers. 2. Saw a few yachts day-trip from nearby marinas and set up Below Deck style outings. 3. watched a 15 strong 4x4 group roll in and completely take over the beach, tearing up the road on their way in and out, and 4. have a large overlanding group set off massive fireworks without any warning and towards the boats.

A small replica Dutch village. Showing how the Dutch immigrants lived, framed and prospered after settling here in 1911. We payed 30 reals per person but there is discount for kids, students and pensioners. Website states the Wednesdays are free. Intresting since not much else to see in town.

Beautiful picknic area next to a river and a castle. there are even picknic tables here. Lots of trees and space to choose your own spot. Sadly, there is also trash around. There is also some space on the right side of the road but we didn't check it out. one car came in the evening and made fire and a local old man on a motorcycle stopped by to say hello in the morning, otherwise we had a calm time there. 4g with Turktelekom. If you want a place further, we saw one more picknic are like this ( with tables) about 15km west along the road from this place in 1700s asl under a rocky mountain.

I stopped here around 10am and bought a couple drinks. They have water, beer, wine, Coke. They also have homemade bread and empanadas available.

Surprisingly clean bathroom.

Not a bad place to stop for the night. Windy through the night. Far enough from the road that it's not visible and mostly quiet.

This has got to be the absolute best stop for a lakefront night on Tahoe. We spoke to the owner of the coffee shop/kayak rental and he asks for only two campers for the night and please be out by 7:30am because the business starts at 8:00am. He is super friendly and asks that you please patronage his business. A couple cups of coffee and some breakfast sandwiches are so well worth it for this priceless location.

Not far from the crossroad Arequipa-Juliaca-Chivay. There is a road sign at the entrance of the dirt road “private property” but -we asked to the police- it’s only to prevent vehicles from bypassing the toll. You can drive in.

Honestly, a scam... the subject told the miners that we were there to document the precariousness of their work and seek together with the government to improve their working conditions. He didn't explain anything to me and then at the diamond office to whom you have to make a "donation" of USD 10 to see the diamonds, he intended to simply show me photos of stones that he had taken with his phone.

One of the few "campgrounds" along this road very close to the lake. You will find several leveled concrete terraces. Good also for bigger rigs (Beware of sharp turns downwards).
The whole place looks not too old (maybe 5-6 years) but appears already pretty run down. Trash all over etc. But still a good place to spend a night or two.
When we were there we've had poor weather, the place was completely empty and no one was there. So we did not pay for staying. But no idea how much they usually charge.
It seems on the lowest terrace there is also a restaurant and a rent-a-boat.

Absolutely recommendable!! We had Dr Ballast, who took us in at short notice for a checkup, clean and polish. Probably the best appointment we've ever had, anywhere. Seriously! To fit you in, they'll ask you to show up at opening time, then expect to be fitted in between. Awesome, affordable, super competent.

Nice pullout on east side of hwy. pull through of pea gravel We’re pulling a 22ft TT no problem. Stopped to take a break and eat. Looks like could spend the night no signs. No trash cans. Please keep it clean pack in pack out.

Nice place next to the main street. You can hear the noise from the street but its relativeli quiet because there is a big hill between the street and the the place.

You have a direct access to the lake. You could definitely swimm there or go fishing…

We did not see if this place belongs to someone. There are no signs at all…
There was also a truck driver sleeping on the place.

We did not have signal on our cellphones. There is NO WiFi

Great single stall bathrooms and water fountains. They also have a good amount of places to sit and charge things. Seed library and also a really good bookstore. This is connected to the rec center and there is also a nice park next to it. A pretty nice size parking lot that can fit most rigs

Decent pullout location with a nice view and a little waterfall running down the mountain nearby. Slight incline. Could potentially short-term park for lunch or overnight.

Easy access point indeed this time of year. But the road to get there is a nightmare when you have a 2WD. Make sure to follow the main road as much as you can, going through the villages as close to the mountains as possible, and not follow google maps or maps.me because they will send you via sandy tracks. We nearly got stuck twice! Main road is in bad shape too. Worst. washboards. ever.
