DowntoWander | If this spot is taken, you can go past the clearing and turn right onto road 2D. There are two sites that are relatively easy to access. Didn't get a good look at the first site (it's up on a hill) to see what size rig it would accommodate. A tent occupied the site while we were there. We stayed in the 2nd site in our Chevy G20. It could accommodate a class C, although the road is pretty steep after site 1. Got plenty of solar. After the 2nd site, the road gets rockier and rutted out. There is a 3rd site, but someone had unfortunately dumped a couch along with a bunch of other trash. We only saw 1 truck and a few hunters on side-by-sides drive by for the 2 days we were there. We had a little bit of Verizon and AT&T, but both were slow. |

radical_to(Instagram) | Did have some disgruntled drunk locals (?) come by in the evening loudly voicing their distaste at all the campers parked for free. Not sure if this is an isolated incident or a general opinion of the locals here. |

oliviercomina | It’s a beautiful walk in a read canyon who leads to the Cuevas (look at the pictures). But you need a guide to go there, so we recommand Fernando Aban (+5493875798822), he works in the municipal camping in the evening. He brought red wine and fruit juice and he had a table hidden behind the rocks so we were like in a beautiful restaurant with him. It cost 1200 ARS/prs if you have a 4x4 and 2000 ARS/prs if he has to rent one. The excursion takes about 6 hours (2 hours drive, 3 hours walk and 1 hour eating and visiting the caves) |

LivingOffKilter | Sam is a true gentleman, such a wonderful character. He has a beautiful plot which is so relaxing. He may have raised the entrance height but there is still a waterpipe to negotiate to get to the parking spot. At 3.75m we managed to slip in. There's not much to the town itself, 40 minute bus ride to Puerto Lopez. We came for one night and stayed four. Cold showers but they were clean. Friendly dogs. |

lettinglifehappen.com | An annual 4-day music festival held in early September at the Nile Discovery Beach Resort in Jinja. Mostly DJ music but some live bands too. I think 2019 was the 3rd year. Besides 4 stages theres a variety of food and drinks. Theres plenty of shade and lots of places to relax when not at a stage. Great vibe. Mostly Ugandans and Kenyans but many foreigners too. Theres tent camping onsite but it's near a stage so loud all night. Also you must carry your stuff at least 1km from the parking to the campground. There are guesthouses and other campgrounds in the area. Check website for info for 2020. If you like music, dancing and the festival vibe, it's worth it. |

vidyapathak | worst border crossing we have ever been to. the whole border crossing took 6+ hours. they close the gate at lunch time and told us to wait 2 hours (only ended up being about 1 hour). they fine you $50 usd for peeing in no man's land outside of the gate (even though the whole border crossing takes forever and rhey dont offer any toilets). they keep you in a room and refuse to tell you how much the fine is or how to pay it until 10 minutes before closing time of the border. the border guards are rude and are on a power trip. |

martijn | Nice place to stop for the night. Can swim in the river and there is a water tap for washing after, even can wash your hair under it. Good place for food aswell. We took the cerdo and Chagas plate, it comes with banana, rice and yuca! Very well made! Even breakfast is good! For sleeping we paid 10 000 for two people and car. Dinner is around 15 000 - 20 000 per menu with soup and lemonade. Breakfast is around 7 000 - 10 000. |

miajl823 | Family owned, tent only, campsite. Along the main road. Can make reservation or just drive in, which is what I did. Sites all have picnic tables and fire pit. There are bbqs for use in the “day use” area. A couple bathrooms and there is a small hike from the campsite. The couple sells wood. There are water pumps as well. Right on a side road near Mt Rushmore, so can be loud during the day with RVs abs such driving by, but quiet at night. Dog friendly. 20$ plus 2$ for the dog, but your pass also is used as the day parking pass for many of the hiking trails in the area, so you save on that. I tend to use this site to find more off the beaten path places, but sometimes after a few days of that it’s nice to just set up camp early and be done for the day to relax and enjoy camping. |
