Canada
Once the unofficial capital of the mining region, knows as the Silvery Slocan. Cool spot to check out what’s left of the town, visit free museums and the oldest continuous operating hydro-generating station in North America since 1897. They also hold the largest collection of trolley cars in Canada. Camping options available. Nice little detour :)
Note: they’re always looking for volunteers and/or paid workers, inquire within.

Beautiful place with very nice people but a sad history. Make sure to check it out and consider donating!
Report Check-InNice little detour. The museum is closed at the moment but there are plenty of others things to see.
About a 100years ago this town had 30 saloons and thousands of mine workers!
Didn't know what to expect, but we loved this old mining town in Eastern Alaska so wanted to give this a shot.
Not really our thing. Good thing it's free but not that interesting.
