MODERATOR NOTE: Place removed because camping is illegal here. Day Use Only, Signs posted and enforced
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Actually they came and enforced the “day use only” knock at 7:15am. Almost got a ticket.
Report Check-InPulled into this paved “U” shaped turnout and was met with small rolling grassy hills that give way to beautiful rocky ocean bluff (no sand beach). Came to stay overnight in our van. There were plenty of “no camping” signs, but no “no parking overnight” signs. Went to bed around 9pm, got a knock from a park ranger at 10:30pm telling us it was a “day use only” location. That cleared out 3 of the 5 vans parked here, but we had nowhere else to go so we stayed alongside one other van. Woke up early, should have left immediately. A ranger came at 7:15 and almost gave us a ticket.
Report Check-InJust a heads up for those hoping to slide by at this location: I stayed 2 nights in a row last week and started to think the “day use only 6am - 10pm” and “no camping” signs were toothless.
Tried again this week: got the “knock” at 10:01 pm as did the 5 others trying to tuck in as well. Not fun to scramble and skidaddle.
Be warned: Oregon State Parks DO enforce the posted regs.
Enjoy the location and sunset, but move on by 10 pm…..

Report Check-In10 other vans/rvs with me last night, the views are certainly nice. BUT got woken up around 8 am by a ranger making the rounds to let us know we needed to leave. No overnight parking allowed
Report Check-InNice place to stay. We seen the no camping signs but we did not see any no overnight parking. It looksike the signs are for no camping as in don't put up a tent and ruin the grass area. Others stayed here with us. Real nice view and pretty level.
Report Check-InNo camping signs on both entrances. Decided not to stay because there was other boondocking nearby. Beautiful spot for the day though.
Report Check-InGreat location and super pretty. Slept overnight with no issues but we accidentally slept in. Around 9am some friendly park rangers knocked on our window and a few others to let us know there is no overnight camping here. He said “this is day use only but clearly it is now day so no need to leave, but for future reference you can’t sleep here”
Report Check-InPulled in around 6:30PM and stayed the night along side about 7 other vehicles from vans to campers, converted skoolie and Subaru. No issues at all. There are new “no overnight” signs but nobody bothered us.
Report Check-InBeautiful (see pics). Loop with enough space for several cars. Restrooms. Had 1-2 bars of T-Mobile. Got there before sunset there were people there for pics most left once the sun was down, slept the night and hung out a bit in the late morning, no one bothered me.
Report Check-InOne of my favorite places so far! Running toilets and sinks 24/7, fall asleep to the sound of the ocean and potentially wake up to the calls of some sea lions, watch the whales go by, and drive 15 minutes either direction for cute little towns to explore! Totally free. In and out of service (ATT) but did fine to get some work done during the day. Plenty of tables and picnic spots too! One other person stayed overnight, a park ranger came by a couple times but didn’t say anything, just drove through. **PLEASE CLEAN UP TRASH! This area is very nice and we as a community need to do our part to keep it that way. Even if it’s not yours, just throw it away. Spots like this could be easily ruined and blamed on vanlifers and shut down. They have multiple trash cans, fill them up!
Report Check-InGreat spot! Came in and parked the van at dusk. A skoolie came and parked near us after dark. Went to sleep with the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks.
Report Check-InLooks like a nice pull off on the bluff, but it was closed as we drove by today.
Report Check-InSo I went by here with the intention to stay the night and both entrances were closed :(. Looks like an amazing spot even to just park for a bit. Oh well got to try another spot.
Report Check-InExcellent spot! Great views, no one bothered me, bathrooms! Moderate to poor LTE on Verizon but definitely worth the stay anyway!
Report Check-InVery peaceful night! Started as the only van. Was joined by another van and car as the night went on. Would absolutely stay here again.
Report Check-InPlace is awesome no overnight camping sign. Stayed 2 days. No bother at all.
Report Check-InAwesome spot, catched the last rays of the amazing sunset. Toilets and no « no overnight parking ». A person in a car did come by to yell insults, blaze their horn and shine their headlights at us. We’ve been nothing more than friendly so I don’t really understand... had some piknic tables too. Would recommend.
Report Check-InThis spot is a gem! The area is very clean and felt safe, plus you have gorgeous views of the coastline. The restrooms are clean as well. There is plenty of space for several vehicles. Our spot was fairly level. Would definitely stay here again.
Report Check-InFantastic place! We saw several whales, the sunset was great, bathrooms are clean, we slept well.
Report Check-InTop 3 most beautiful spots of our trip. Yes there are many people there but what a beautiful place. The toilets are clean. We are far enough from the road not to hear it. The view of the sea is beautiful. Parking is at level. I would give 5 stars if this place was uncrowded.
Report Check-InBeautiful! Whales all over the ocean! Watch the whales, then go to Newport Bayfront to Pacific Seafood for Dungeness crab-we paid $20.00 for a large crab with drawn butter!
Report Check-InIncredible spot. Watched gray whales for a solid 24 hours. Didn’t want to leave!! Grassy area where we picnicked. Quiet and peaceful night of sleep.
Report Check-InBeautiful place overlooking the ocean. Whale watching during the day. Clean bathrooms. Road noise was minimal.
Report Check-InThis place is one of the reasons why van camping is so amazing. There are no 'no camping' or 'no overnight' signs. There is a restroom with toilets and running water. The views are spectacular (you're right at the side of the ocean), and all night long you get to hear the sound of the ocean. Let's take care of this place and hopefully it stays available far into the future!
