Large overgrown rest area with plenty of space for tents and a few BBQ spots and benches. Doesn't appear to be maintained much if at all but perfect for cycle traveller.
possible with car and van but maybe a bit tight for RV or camper as it is a single ring road in the rest area with no parking except at the side of the ring road.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Like mention in the other post, big loop where the grass is not cut anymore. it's between the highway and a railroad truck. I think I heard the train until 23h. in the morning, I saw some deers. For me it was ok bécasse I don't have light sleeping. I was there alone
Report Check-InAs others have said there are trains and trucks, but it was a great place to pull into after a long drive, a lot better than a standard rest stop.
I saw the northern lights too!! Always nice to catch those in big Saskatchewan skies.
Report Check-InDecent spot for a night if you're looking for a place by the Trans Canada. Between the Highway and the train it can get quite loud though. There is a gate but it doesn't look like it has actually been closed in quite some time. The old rest area itself is essentially one gravel loop with an overgrown grassy area around.
Report Check-InEasy to get into. Near railroad so can hear train but highway noise not so bad, beware of ticks in the grass. Otherwise lots of space and pretty private.
