Unassigned campsites on a first come basis, non residents pay $3.00 per day, quiet, beautiful place. Only 15 minutes from Punta Gorda Fl. So very convenient. No services, vault toilets but 10 minute drive to the YMCA. NEEDS PERMIT.

Report Check-InThe exact location is a bit further on the road (100 metres). GPS: 26,85034 degrees north, 81,96161 degrees west. Nice camping with around 50 campsites. We arrived earlier than 17h and had no problem to install. Lots of generators because no electricity for big rigs. Nice place to walk, kayak and bike.
Report Check-Innobody mentioned the permit needed from

Report Check-InNice free weekend place next to a large lake. Several pit toilets and a hand pump well with non-potable water. Caution - saw a 4' rattlesnake a few sites over from me.
Report Check-InStayed at the south overflow area just before the no trailers beyond here sign, felt like more room between neighbors in this area, but a little more freeway noise. Lots of folks, but super chill, cool off road buggies everywhere. Close to punta gorda, great cell signal. Free, one or two pit toilets for the whole area, we used our own. Overall, great free camping, would stay again for sure.
Report Check-InWhile hunting season is over, you can only camp here on weekends. Beautiful spot though.
Report Check-InVery busy on a Sunday night, pretty sure we got the last spot arriving around 5pm.
Self register or register online. It’s a beautiful spot, but try to clean up after yourself and others if you have the time and thought :)
$3 per person.
Fire pits, bathrooms, grassy and flat.
Report Check-InOnline registration only. We have a registration but no printer. The Ranger said: The inspector can wake you up an you show him the registration on your mobile phone.
