Excelent place. We asked to the bar attendant, and she said we can park the campervan behaind the restorant. It has a great view of the city.

Great food and great friendly people. We ordered food here and it was delicious. Price was ok. The view is amazing and the Resturant is a great place to hang, just chill and chat. They told us we could camp here and the view with that was awesome as well. The camping is free when you eat a meal. Very secure, safe and just a good vibe. Pura vida for sure!!

Lugar seguro, tranquilo e a vista da cidade de SAN José a noite é linda.
Wi-Fi e banheiro só no restaurante e é necessário consumir para pernoitar no estacionamento. Local amplo mas não é muito plano porém pra passar uma noite é perfeito.

Safe, quiet place and the view of the city of SAN José at night is beautiful.
Wi-Fi and bathroom only in the restaurant and it is necessary to spend the night in the parking lot. Spacious place but not very flat, but for spending a night it is perfect.

Depois de visitar o vulcão, pedimos para ficar na frente do Fresas Maye. O pessoal é muito atencioso e muito gentis, só que o pátio deles é numa descida, e como o carro não ficaria reto para dormirmos, eles disseram para ficarmos na frente do restaurante que fica ao lado, que é comum vans ficarem ali. Esse restaurante tem um pátio gigante e muito espaço, e permitiram que ficássemos desde que consumíssemos algo no restaurante, o que não é um problema, já que a comida deles é deliciosa e os preços são ok para a Costa Rica. Tem Wi-Fi muito bom, mas não chega até o estacionamento, mas dentro do restaurante dá pra usar tranquilamente. Acabamos usando os banheiros apenas enquanto o restaurante estava aberto, então não sei se ficam abertos. Um ótimo lugar.

After visiting the volcano, we asked to stand in front of Fresas Maye. The staff is very attentive and very kind, but their patio is on a slope, and as the car wouldn't be straight enough for us to sleep, they told us to stay in front of the restaurant next door, as vans are common there. This restaurant has a giant patio and lots of space, and they allowed us to stay for free as long as we consumed something in the restaurant, which is not a problem since their food is delicious and the prices are ok for Costa Rica. There is very good Wi-Fi, but it doesn't reach the parking lot, but inside the restaurant you can use it without any problems. We only ended up using the bathrooms while the restaurant was open, so I don't know if they are open. A great place.

Great spot outside of Poas Volcano Park entrance. Level spots to park and camp. Bathroom open 24hrs. Rainy the day we got here.

The restaurant is open till 4pm, price 2500crc/ppn. If you eat there it's for free to camp. They let one toilets open during the time restaurant is closed, WiFi in the restaurant. Good place to spend the night before going to the park. But a bit noisy-lot of motos till 1am on the main road.

Great place for a night. About 10 degrees C at night. We had dinner at the restaurant, so camping was free.

Un magnifique panorama sur la ville au petit matin ensoleillé. On recommande à 100%
Vous pouvez utiliser les toilettes disponibles nuit comme jour. Et l’emplacement pour le van est à l’abri du vent! C’est un restaurant, vous pouvez donc aussi y manger. Nous on a profité d’un bon chocolat chaud. L’endroit est à 11 minutes du Volcan Poas.

We stayed one night, beautiful view on the mountain and all around. It was cold. We have access to toilets. It’s a restaurant so you can eat and drink. We enjoyed hot chocolate with this weather. Very calm, be aware of racoon at night, no trash outside.

Beautiful place to overnight with an incredible view of Costa Rica. Fran the owner is super friendly, he let us stay if we consume something for the restaurant. Clean toilet, wifi, great food and kind staff!!
4km for the Poas Volcano.

Nice place to stay overnight! About 2 km from the volcano poas! They charge 2500 per person. The food in the restaurant is very good and ppl are super kind!

Spent the night here before going to Poas. Owner is very friendly guy who let us stay here for free. Could use the men toilet which is located outside. View at night of San Jose is amazing. It was low season so no other people around. The 'tres leches cake' is delicious.

we were also offered free camping here if we eat at the restaurant. the dinner was delicious and the view (if you aren't socked in by the clouds) is incredible! you are very high here and have a clear view of most of San Jose. more pretty at night. there were what looked like the beginning of a camping area mentioned by a previous post but also looked like it hadn't been touched for a long time. big grassy areas but only a few really level spots. dog friendly. very quiet at night since there isn't much past this place up the hill.

So so nice!!!
This restaurant is very nice and the working people are really adorable!!!
We finally didn’t stay here for the night because there is too much rain and we decided to go back to pacific cost, but really, for those who come here, this place is really nice!!

This is the perfect place to stay for the night if you like to go to the Volcano Poas early in the morning. We stayed on the parking lot one night for free because we eat in the restaurant a delicous dinner. Beautiful views down to the valley. Toilets open during business hours of the restaurant. From here it is a 10 minute drive to the entrance of the NP.

The restaurant has changed names to Bar y Restaurante Lo Que Tu Quieras. They are charging 2000 colones per person per night. We ended up staying downstairs at Fresas Maye.

We stayed here for one night right under the Poas volcano. The view was absolutely stunning. The owner let us camp on his property and since the restaurant was closed it was quiet. We really enjoyed the sunset and the view over de city. The owner was also kind enough to let us use a bathroom

Really nice place! Owner is super nice! You can stay there for free and use the facilities of the restaurant when its open. Down on the road is a nice little shop where you can use the toilet and do the dishes as well. The night was really cold but the view was absolutely beautiful! Also, doing opening hours of the restaurant there is parking security.

Maybe not the right season. All restaurants and shops closed down at 3 PM. The lady from Fresas Maye let us park in front of their shop for the night free of charge.

On the left side of Fresas Maye parking lot there is a road up to the restaurant and bar. Camping there is nicer then at Fresas Maye because it is more secluded and protected from the wind. 2-3 level spots for vans and fantastic city view from the bar and its terrace. Fran the manager and co-owner of the bar was very interested in our van and showed us were to refill our water tank.

Toilets open as long as the bar is open and this depends on the hour their last clients leave.

Fran said that he is about to finish a campspot with, shower, toilet, campfire spot and shelter and is planning
to charge 4000colones per person.

End of August 2019 his first cabin will be finished up in case camping ends up too cold for you.
