Gravel track all the way to the isolated hermitage.
Driving past the heremitage for a hundred meters the track becomes a 4x4 track. Driving just a few meters uphill there is a flat sandy platform right at the side of the track. Big enough for landrover with roof top tents and also for a mid size van. Beautiful view of monastery and beautiful sun set above the mountains.

All the comments are still valid. Follow Turtle Road, and you will find yourself in a mystical wonderland. It's a beautiful place for a walk :)
Report Check-InStayed below just under the monastery. Excellent spot. Make sure to enjoy the sunset from nearby hill with the Thymios Vlachavas statue. Sectacular views.
As a popular trail is leading along here expect some hikers to pass by.
Great location indeed. Road to the best spot is quite washed out so we stayed a bit lower. Morning sun hits the monastery just perfect.
Report Check-InVery beautiful space here. the campsite itself is just a flat space for one vehicle at the end of a gravel road. The view walking up the mountain is beautiful. We stayed here for just 1 day.
Some people walk by but made a friendly conversation.
Report Check-InIt’s hard to imagine such a nice spot so close to all the tourism surrounding this amazing place. The road is a little rough but doable with loaded adventure motorcycles or a 4WD. There are two flat spots in this area that were big enough for a large tent, two motorcycles, or a overland vehicle. Nice and quiet spot. www.viajarMOTO.com
Report Check-InAwesome spot with great view! I was there with my tent and my bicycle, perfect place to rest before visiting the meteora
Report Check-Inbeautiful and quite place. there are actual three places where a mid van can park. road has big holes so offroad is recommended. near by is a tiny natural water source that comes from the mountain.
