Camping alongside a resevoir near La Quinta, Indio. Showers costs 25¢ per 2 minutes.
Current prices as of 12/20 are $25 for primitive sites, $30 for "water nearby". Hookups are available at some sites those are $40
No processing fee (anymore)
There is a police shooting training area across the lake, so sometimes it is noisy.
A little spendy, but pretty if you get a spot along the water, and very close to anything you might need in town.
Great cell reception on Verizon.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Stayed for a two night trip to area for a wedding in Coachella. The park was clean, a little “tired”, but everything worked. Had water and electrical hookup, level spots. Showers were good. Pretty place. $48/noc.
Report Check-InGreat location 10-15minutes away from shops and gas. Very quiet, no road noise but can hear the shooting range, but not overly annoying and not all day. We just heard it one evening for about an hour.
Easy to park can pull through on middle full hookup sites when not too busy. We stayed for 2 nights $40 per night. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lots of bc and Alberta Canada plates.
Fire pits and benches at all hook up sites. Lots of dry camping spots too closer to the lake.
Free use of the sani dump when you stay here.
No swimming in the lake and the pool was closed. Not sure if it was because of the storm that came through from LA.
We will be back
Nice campground with a small lake. There is an area set aside for primitive camping (no hookups) that is half the size the price of the campsites you can reserve online. These are available on a first come basis.
Report Check-InCounty campground with primitive, tent (water hook-up only), RV (water, electric hook-ups, no waste) level sites. Clean toilets, good showers. Dump station (free for campers. $20 for day use). Easy drive in access for all vehicles.
Lake is for fishing only.
Quiet campground. A little shade - I think this would be hot in the summer.
Some local hikes.
Report Check-InGreat campground with the option of getting a dedicated campsite or stay on the beach. Well maintained facility.
Report Check-InFirst time at this park. Very nice water reservoir but as others have said, you can not use it due to concern with invasive muscles. Concrete embankment around water - stayed up n site 67 right next to water. Water spout beside us and picnics c table and fire pit. Lovely park, but disappointed to hear pool is closed. Hasn’t been open since Covid and now having issues getting lifeguards. After boon-docking in Arizona and California, it is an adjustment to have neighbours so close. Really glad we came to give it a try. Next time would go to dispersed camping area to have a bit more space. In a self-contained Sprinter van. Cost $30.00 night and $2.00 additional per day, per pet. For location - reasonable price, but not like having the solitude in the desert. All depends on what you are looking for.
Report Check-InSame as previously reported. Primitive sites have minimal shade. There is noise from the road right next to the park. Lots of gun shooting nearby. Shower has only one setting (“burn your skin off”). If you need to be in there area or you plan to fish in the lake it might be worth the $25 / night, but it is a bit pricey for what it is.
Report Check-InPrimitive sites still $25/night. Full hookup sites are $40, partial hookup is $30, I think the equestrian was $35. There is a dump station on site you can use even if you stay in the primitive. Primitive sites are FCFS only. Also, you don't pay the $8 reservation fee if you just show up and pay for a spot there on site. Good cell signal here.
Report Check-InIt's a pretty nice place if you get a spot on the resevoir. Hot showers are 25¢ for a minute or two. No swimming or boating on the resevoir, but fishing is allowed from shore.
I hate places that charge a "processing" or "reservation" fee and this is one of them. $8 on top of the campsite cost for the pleasure of using the website. Campsites "with water nearby" are $30/night. I think primitive camping is $25 now.
Close-in to town location was very helpful for getting all of my grocery shopping and errands done.
Report Check-InDry camping still $20. No WiFi!! My reason to come here was the Fast WiFi Sign. I changed it to "No WiFi" because I was told that it will probably take more than a year to have the new system installed that would then give coverage for the whole area. To top my disappointment, it was extremely windy; several tents were blown away.
Report Check-InOpen air type campground, lined up next to your neighbors. Primitive camping is now $20 which seems a bit much for what you get. Coin operated showers are nice. Will operate on one quarter but need at least .50 for a quick shower. Older crowd, nice and quiet. Place is well kept. There is a gun range across the lake but it’s not that loud.
Report Check-InPrimitive camping is $15. Full hookups are $30. Nice view of mountains. Lake is man made, no swimming allowed. The fishing area is nicer to park in during the day but they close the gate at sundown. Mostly RVs but a few cars, vans and tents.
Report Check-InLocated near old la quinta town.Yeah, good wifi.Showers costs 2 quarters.Nice Overnight places with all necessary things for 15 bucks.
That is a lot of value for the money !
A little lake is also there.
The place is not so quiet....a police shooting training area is nearby.
Overall very good value for the money.
