Small rest stop a couple miles past Albertson if heading out of Missoula. Has one restroom. What sets it apart from the normal rest stop is there is river access to a sand beach plus there are multiple established rock climbing routes within close walking distance of the parking lot
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Signs that say no camping. These are always confusing if it’s referring to tent or vehicle. Use your judgement.
Report Check-InGo down the cliff and access to river.
Can swim, perfect temperature in August.
Can camp down by river too… perfect spot!
As described. A bit of train and traffic noise but a fine place for the night. Bring earplugs. 1 4g tmobile bar. Nice mountain view.
Report Check-InStayed here overnight and was a good place to sleep in the car. Close to highway but not noisy
Report Check-InPlace to sleep for the night. Best to I/90 so there is a bit of road noise. Also there are a few trains that pass by thru the night. Still not a bad place to rest. Bathrooms available
Report Check-InVery secluded behind trees so most of 90 is covered. It was pretty quiet when we stayed there.
Report Check-InJust to be clear: This is on the east-bound side of the interstate. Trucks were noisy in the evening, with some bad fumes, but once they quieted down by midnight, it was a great location. River area is lovely and very much worth hiking down to. Pit toilet wasn't bad at all while we were here.
Report Check-InNot listed on Apple Maps at all but if you are traveling east on 90 you’ll come across signs for a “Parking Area” off of the highway. BEAUTIFUL little spot on the water. We actually went down and explored for about an hour when we got here and only went back up due to it getting dark out. Would absolutely come back if I am in the area
Report Check-InDecent spot overlooking the river and a bald eagle nest (down the river, there's a sign showing where to find it).
Toilet is there, just breathe through your mouth 😄
You'll hear some noise from the highway, trucks also stopping at the parking spot, and a train or two on the opposite side of the river. Nothing horribly intrusive though.
