Description

Stunning spot above June Lake with amazing view. Access road is soft gravel and a bit steep. We got up with a 2wd Vanagon with aggressive AT tires.

Amazing spot! Trail isnt too rough up. Few bigger rocks pulling into spot to set up but not bad. Sweet views

Wonderful spot!! Good amount of traffic noise from roads but enjoyed my stay.

still a little bit of snow on the trails in early May but I made it up fine in my 2wd RAV4, no service for att but an amazing view of June lake

Great stay! As others had said it was windy but we still think it’s worth the trip given the amazing 360 view! We were able to make it up in our 2wd van and good tires but use caution.

A little past the overlook parking there is a dirt road on the right. Take that then follow to the right to get to this spot. GPS drops you at the main road vs at the actual location. Coordinates are correct. As previously stated, this is an AMAZING spot. I didn't get to stay here overnight bc it was taken. But, I was able to spend the day doing some work in this spot after people left & before I went exploring. There are about 4 spots total. 2 before this location & 1 further up atop the hill. Although the one up top is a larger space, it's not the best view of the lake, comparatively.

This area is nice with good 3 bar Verizon. Winds were 25 sustained and gusting 65 when we were there.

Easily one of the best views I've ever camped at! Absolutely jaw dropping beautiful. There are three spots up top to camp at. This exact location is by far the best as it has the best view and is the only one that is level.

The spots on this hill are great, but they’re currently snowed in. We couldn’t get in from either side. There are great views and not many cars pass by - from my previous experience there.

amazing location and cell coverage are excellent!

It can get very windy, but when there is no wind, it's great. No shade. Bring your own shade.

Google Fi, Visible, AT&T[not prepaid], T-Mobile all work great, even without using the Cell Phone Signal Booster. Yes, all are active in my rig on separate devices through two routers.

Quite the place. Filled with luscious views overlooking June lake and the mountains surrounding, perfect weather, however... no shade. If you have an awning, it's perfect. Unfortunately it has become slightly popular and even on a Thursday night people started sliding in around 4/5pm trying to snag it. Luckily, there are two other spots on the hill as backups. Which they filled. Has great Verizon service in the case you need to get a little work done. No fires allowed. Overall, a wonderful spot to stop while traveling through. Made it up with my lifted Prius with all terrain tires, so I don't see many having an issue. @priuscamping

This was the most breathtaking spot! Gorgeous views with easy access to get to June lake and enjoy the amenities of the campground. There are about 3 spots overlooking the lake from this road. It’s a bit of a steep and bumpy road. I have a Honda CR-V with 4wd and was fine but just take it slow. We were so happy to find this, especially on a holiday!

June Lake overlook. Very nice 360 views.

One of the best spots we've ever been to (and we've boondocked in over 20 states). Made it up in a rwd sprinter, just a few sketchy points. Incredible view, wish we were here longer than 1 night. Also the RV park down the street has the cheapest (and very hot) showers we've had yet! ($1 for 7 mins)

Amazing camp spot! No no overnight parking signs, though I’m not sure the rules around parking near water sources in national forests. No one bothered us and we were the only ones there! 10/10 would recommend

Second time at this place and still as amazing as the first time. This time not as windy which is great. Not totally level but it’s all good given the views this spot provides. 2WD is ok but the very last section takes a little ground clearance and some maneuvering to get passed some bigger rocks. Love this place!!

awesome place with okay tmobile service. made it up with a hardside truck camper and 4x4. slightly sketchy with high embanked turns, didnt go to the top because of lack of off-road experience and didn't want to tip over but just below the top is another pull off. not level at all but used my jacks to level out. super windy spot

Stunning spot indeed!! As the original report stated. Have 2WD Sprinter and right at the top is a bit gnarly but made it with good AT tires. Will def be coming back to this spot.
