Peru
We started to walk from hydroelectrica early in the morning. in this location we noticed several empty buses were going back to Aguas Calientes after they dropped off tourists in Machu.
we flagged down one of them and we asked if we could board the bus to machu directly from here and buy the bus tickets aboard. The driver said we had to buy the tickets first in Aguas Calientes.
We then asked if he could give us a free lift to Aguas and were accepted.
This is a good option if you want to save yourself 2.6 km walk and/or are running late for your entry time in Machu.
I think it only works in the morning tho ;)
