Kgalagadi NP, Mabuasehube Gate and campsites.
There are 3 campsites. Bring your own water as ablutions not working.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Very nice park, check gate opening times as they may vary. The WiFi password is written on the board (for the Fritzbox SSID) : 57644398481452579542
Make sure to have enough fuel as the closest options are Hukunsi or Nossob - both over 150Km away.
Report Check-InDecent campsites for the price.
There is still no water for the ablution block and the generator can still be heard at night.
This means you needs to bring your own water and a spade as there are no long drop toilets either.
Wood can be bought for a 100 Pula. This gets a fairly large bundle. Good for two or three nights if you are frugal.
Camping and park fees plus vehicle for one day was 148 Pula. This seems to be a rate applicable to all nationalities for only the Kgalagadi National Park.
CAUTION
Make sure you pack EVERYTHING NON METALIC away at night as the resident hyenas made off with and destroyed our box for fire equipment, including said equipment, one camp chair, a towel and one camp shower, hung at head height.
We arrived the early evening a day early and after a few discussion we were allowed to stay here for the night. As always the first words are sorry we are full😭, then Luca decided to let us stay and return the next morning to settle our bills. We had 2 silver fox visit us for the night, not shy of people. Please do not feed them. Abolutions still without water after all these years. Just a not no nice pit hole toilet
Report Check-InThe ablutions have no water and are not operational.
The campsites need to be serviced - the braai areas aren't usable at the moment. Stayed at site 2 which was fine for a stopover.
We could hear the generator from the staff village all night.
Report Check-InWe didn’t book in advance but the lady at the gate was very friendly and we could stay here for 2 nights. The pitch have a shade shelter and there is a poorly maintained ablutions with cold showers
Report Check-InWe showed up 1 day earlier than booked. After talking to the very friendly lady at the reception she let us camp. Even if there would be no space available she would have let us camp next to the office. We payed the normal price of 60 Pula for 2 people. We asked her to take it without receipt so we didn't have to pay the entrance fee for this day. She agreed ;-) We did only arrive at 16.00 and promised not to go on a game drive. Water in the ablutions only available in the morning.
