Arrived here with no booking. Got a gate pass without problem.
At Mana Pools Office in the park I got a walk in campsite for 23$ per person. SB1 which was directly at the river front. There are 4 SB campsites available.

Costs below for non residents:
$20 pp entry fee (per day fee but covers you for 2 days/1night).
$10 for vehicle.
$23pppn camping for spots SB1-4.
We arrived with no permit.

We went to Zimparks in Harare but they told us camping was either $70 or $150 per site, the $23 SB spots are only available to book on site

Friendly staff- we made a reservation through zimparks website a few days before but not really required. If there is a space, they will make it possible. Payment is done inside the park, cards accepted. If you come from the north, apparently there is a similar office in Chirundu.

Stop here to collect your Mana Pools entry permit, but note that you do not pay for it here, you pay at reception when inside the park.

Park fees are US$20 pppn + $10 per vehicle for up to five consecutive days + camping fees. You will need to stay inside the park as it is too long a drive in/out to do a day trip.

We did not have a reservation and they still issued the permit OK, but note that when in the park there are just four camp pitches that can be booked on site at Nyamepi Camp. All others must be booked via ZimParks central reservations in advance. They can only check the availability of those four when you get there, so you take your chances if you drive in without a reservation. Probably not advisable during peak season!
