Gorgeous BLM land past Lone Mesa Group campground and just before Lona Mesa Campground on BLM ROAD 137. 4wd and high clearance recommended, but not necessary. I’ve seen freightliners and sprinters with low clearance on the road. There are plenty of spots available about a tenth of a mile down the road and others available farther than that, but 4wd is necessary for those. Some man made fire pits are available. We were able to take our high clearance 12 foot trailer down the road, but anything larger than that may not fit.

Gorgeous spot. A few spots here with fire rings. No other amenities. Good service with ATT.
Report Check-Infree campground, very quiet, good for overnight. no problem for a big rig
Report Check-InRam pro master with a 3 inch lift: Getting down into this area was very difficult. Getting back up was even worse. The slick rock is extremely bumpy and treacherous. My cabinets flew open and everything fell out it was so rough. Rain and thunderstorms in the area made for a difficult slog down/up the hill. Front wheel drive barely made it back up the hill and out of this camping area. The views here are gorgeous, but you'll need a high clearance vehicle with 4 x 4 to negotiate the rough terrain. Also, it's dusty and noisy here as there are OHVs going by constantly day and night. I visited in mid May. Next time, I'll bring my Jeep and go further into the back country where it's more secluded.
Report Check-InNice Site. Four Wheel Drive recommend. Big Rig possible. There are more sites in this aera.
Report Check-InMany wonderful spots in this grouping. We are far left as you come down the rough road entry, on a large slab. Easy to level. No problem getting a 2WD Sprinter 170 in as long as I crawled down. High clearance a must. Reasonable Verizon. Quiet, pleasant, great views.
Report Check-InMy report is for this exact GPS location, but there are lots of spots further down the road. As described. 4wheelers doing night time excursions on the backroads in the area and drove by at all hours (on a Monday in October)- Likely not too peaceful in summer so be aware. This spot is within earshot of the Dubinky Well Rd as well as the Lone Mesa campground just up the hill, but can easily go further down the road (we came in late so just wanted to get set up asap). Decent cell and data service (Verizon). Good clearance to wheelbase ratio will be helpful.
Report Check-InVerizon had insane service! Was able to get down in the promaster with GOOD all season tires, way up is a little harder in front wheel, but if you are methodical, you got it.
Report Check-InGreat campsite, we had signal with T-Mobile & AT&T, and our Verizon jetpack had great service. I took one star off because it appears someone lives in a trailer here, and lets their dogs run around, off leash, all day and night. The pups are sweet, but barked outside our van in the middle of the night and made it difficult to take our dogs out.
Report Check-InAwesome wild camping spot on BLM land. Fantastic views with multiple spots to camp. Very quite with little to no traffic. The drive down can be a bit rough, had to eventually use 4 wheel drive when exiting.
Report Check-InExcellent View, several flat areas, concur with the high clearance recommendations. The drive dowm in my 4x2 170 Sprinter was slow for the last bit ( just after right turn road is washboard and descends ). Wife was very nervous, we'll see if I can get out tomorrow Lol
Report Check-InSelf contained campers only is being enforced by BLM Law Enforcement. You MUST have a portable toilet or they will write you citations.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot to camp. Plenty of space, nice scenery and had good cell service for T-Mobile. High clearance is somewhat necessary, but my 2WD van made it just fine.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot. I drove my Grand Cherokee in 300-400 yards. Kind of rough. Bottomed out once. One camper further down the trail and one back up the trail.
Report Check-InIt's nice and spread out here, good views of canyon. I'd definitely suggest 4x4 and clearance as there is sand and rocks that have big divots and dips. Just keep going down these roads, get out and look around. You can see different places to go, Also sandy enough to tent camp on ground. We had a roof top tent. Can get windy.
