Nice showers and bathrooms, big spaces, not to crowded this time of year. Would come back for sure.

I have stayed here at least30 times in the last 7 years and this is my favorite campground ever. 4 loops, sites spread far apart, quiet, dark, HOT showers with reservation and the bathhouses are the cleanest I have seen in a campground. Really well-maintained! Fire rings are cleaned after every departure. The hosts are great, friendly. Some sites with electric and sewer and some primitive. There are trails, a swimming beach, cycling trails throughout the national forest and walking the loops is hilly and great exercise. Close to river for kayaking and SUPing. . 15 minute drive to Asheville but gates are locked at 8 pm and one has to call a host to enter after closing. $28-$38 a night. Half price with a pass.
