Description

MODERATOR NOTE: Place removed because location is closed.

Very clean and beautiful site (grass) with view on the valley. Sheltered by trees and partly hidden from what little traffic there is. Clean water from the steam across the road. Totally hidden if you use a tent.
With a 4x4 and tent on the roof no problems with the wind. [Y 85 at 80 Km]

There's now a brand new fence... This spot isn't accessible anymore :(

Report Check-In

Forest along the side of the road providing excellent shelter from the wind.
Lots of dead wood for an easy starting fire in an existing pit. I would avoid the one I found beneath a tree for avoiding s forest fire.
Across the road is a grassy valley with a crystal clear stream of the cleanest water you could ever taste.
Very little passing traffic.
Hardly any trash. I burned the couple of plastic items I found on my fire.
Take some with you if you find any, or at least don't leave yours.
Peaceful place. No flies. Guanacos roaming. Birds singing. Perfect.

Nice spot as described. Good wind protection - ok for a roof tent. The firepit and plenty of wood is present. Water in the creek on the oposite side of the road. High clearance preferable.

Agree everyone else’s positive comment but will add:

Across the road is a beautiful stream-side spot to rinse off and cool your beers. In Feb18 there was also a herd on Guanaco feeding - including about a dozen babies across the plain.

Sometimes wild camping is a chore and sometimes it’s amazing - this place is incredible

Nice and quiet spot. We even had a little snow during the night but it was gone the next morning.

Pretty little spot indeed. Big rigs will not fit (sorry!). Just 50m off the road hidden in between the trees. Unfortunately we had rain in the evening, but woke to blue bird skies! Plenty of wood around with a few fire pits ready to go! Buenas noches amigos!

Fabulous spot. Great shelter and a lot of wildlife. Two foxes were very curious about our grilled sausages.

really nice spot take the grass road that is just west of this spot it is much better.

Best place in a long time! Tucked away in the trees, this is a great vacation from the otherwise strong winds. Hidden from the road slightly up a hill, with lots of bird sounds, plenty of wood, and great fire pit. Spent two days here cause we liked it so much. Only small, low rigs can make it inbetween the trees. Great place for tents (rooftop and floor)!

Stayed maybe 200m further in direction to Cameron where a grass road leads up where at the end you are not so visible from the road. Very good wind protection. No facilities. Many animals (foxes! horses, guanacos).
