Something not right?

Description

Gorgeous site right on the Rim. No facilities. Room for 3-4 vehicles. Large rocks make simple tables and perches. Two wheel drive accessible but not during rains, the washes when filled with runoff are not passable ((even for 4WD). Very cold in winter. Take care with kids and dogs; sheer dropoffs right to canyon bottom. Long 20 mile gravel road to get here. Worth it

Latest Check-Ins

We attempted to reach this or one of the other sites on the rim of the canyon but the dirt road turned out to be impassible for our van. We got stuck in soft sand in the road, couldn’t arrange help until the next day, and the help, coming from Kanab, is very expensive.

Such a long road to get here and lots of rocks but was able to get there in a hatchback.(vw GTI) Half way through was thinking to myself this place is not gonna be worth the drive, but it totally was.

Loved the view. Drove in with Dodge Grand Caravan. 27 miles of awful road was rough on the van.
The road is considerably worse the last 2 miles. I scraped bottom 2 times.
I don't think I'd go back. Not actually sure if I'd even do it a first time having been out there.
I was going to stay 2 nights...but it was hitting 96 degrees and there is no shade at all. Had to make new plans and chose to head out for cooler campsites.

not gonna lie, the 2 hour dirt road in (42 kms) was rough. the dirt road itself is just fine, no big rocks or anything, just steep in a few areas... it's just incredibly white-washed so you cannot go more than 15mph and it's gonna be bumpy no matter what! once you get in though... absolutely surreal. you will most likely have the place to yourselves! be safe with the Grand Canyon obviously, but you will love the views. totally worth the drive in! keep her clean and enjoy what mother nature has to offer :)

Craziest spot I’ve ever seen! Sheer drop off into canyon just feet away from the site and immaculate views to the other side of the canyon. Warm during the day but cools off at night with a slight breeze.

This place is frickin amazing
20mi gravel road to get to it.... but the destination is worth it -literally right on the grand canyon.... right.on.it.

Report Check-In

there was a long 20 mile gravel road to get here
but it is so very worth it
it is literally right on the north rim of the Grand Canyon
