A staging area for OHVs. But also used for dispersed camping. The OHVs are ripping around out of sight and hearing. And they slow down to minimize dust when passing campers.
A good road in - rocky, not sandy. Lots of fire rings. Lots of room. A bit of highway noise. No shade. Wide open, so should be good for watching the meteorites tonight.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Decent road and plenty of places to camp however the road and topography looked much better in the camping area just north of here as you continue towards Havasu City. This is a popular ohv riding area so there is alot of traffic passing in and out and very dusty. Great views of the lake and mountains if you cross the highway and explore the blm land on that side.
Report Check-InRocky road. Everyone dispersed with so many places to park. I choose way back to be away more from hwy noise. T-Mobile Signal is roaming, sporadic for internet. Ok for overnight.
Report Check-InJust off the highway, some fire rings, some level spots. Nearby construction and trucks happening at night plus road noise. Ok place to rest...difficult to sleep.
Report Check-InPretty nice spot. There are many spots all along this road; we went about a quarter or half mile away from the highway. Bunch of RVs in spots much farther away from the highway, but everyone appeared very spread out. Perfect temps, no mosquitos. Beautiful sunset and sunrise views, very quiet. We just spent a night but but found it very beautiful and peaceful. The road in is decent; a bit bumpy but not soft (at least as far as we went). There are periodic pullouts that were big enough for us to turn around with a jeep and small trailer. The entrance from the highway is relatively clear once you reach it, but it doesn't have any signs or anything, so it can sneak up on you -- so I recommend checking google street view to familiarize yourself with what to look for, and use satellite view on your directions.
Report Check-InIt’s alright for a night. The road is bumpy getting in, I went slow and was alright but I was glad for 4wd. There’s plenty of spots close to the entrance, I went further back trying to get some privacy. During the day lots of atv’s zooming around, there’s plenty of off-roading trails if that’s your thing. The mining operation nearby started up at 6am, loud truck noises.
I got 1-2 spotty bars of AT&T.
I wouldn’t call this a serene place, but it was pleasant for a night. And free!
Right off 95 for a quick overnight. Road rocky and a bit in level, but 5th wheel got in fine.
Report Check-InRoad a bit uneven and and rough, but fine to get a 5th wheel in a bit.
Report Check-InAll the same. Pretty quiet on a Monday evening. Got a cell signal but not strong enough for data.
