Description

This hilltop campsite is run by a Maasaï community. There are extremely friendly staff and we spent a very good stay. We have visited their Boma and they accompanied us to track giraffes. In the evening, they did a fire and we sang together around the fire .
There was a faboulus view on the Rift Valley and we could see the mount Meru and the Kilimanjaro !
We paid 15000 Tsh/pppn.
Accommodations are basics but clean, little kitchen, a shelter and a lot of shade (black acacias)
It’s necessary to contact Samwel before coming, he prefers be warned a few days before (by whatsapp +255 767 573 982).

Still as I've said in previous comment: really beautiful views, Samuel still reactive on WhatsApp, kind staff, nice camp fire provided for the chilly nights, price still 15,000 tzs ppn. No showers, only longdrop toilets. If you like solitude might be better avoid it on weekends.

Very basic campsite in Monduli. The campgrounds are a bit thorny in some places. The view is nice but it’s a but obscured by bushes. Charges were 10,000. Tsh. Pppn for EAC residents. Check beforehand. Some of the staff linger around your campsite which can be uncomfortable so just let them know.

No sign on the main road but the campsite is well located on the map. We got there last minute, sent a message to Samuel on WhatsApp then later a Maasai named Lesikar came and stayed around during the night for security. In the morning we went to his boma and saw the mama taking milk from the goats. It was quite nice and they were really sympathetic. He spoke a bit of English. The campsite is really nicely located on top of the mountain with beautiful views of many mountains such as Meru, Kilimanjaro, Ol Donyo Lengai and Ngorongoro. We paid 30,000 tzs for 2 people + 10,000tzs for the Maasai. Totally recommended! Great network coverage with Vodacom, even has 4G.
