Black River & Vagnon Village tour | Tourist Attraction

Made the tour for two people as part of a round trip. Our guide made the agreement and afterwards we paid 20k for the two of us (Boat with local guide and tasting of palm wine and handcraft show). The the only answer was that Benin is expensive. Now I knew iOverlander. Think that this will help us to save some money, thanks!

They told me 10k for a solo canoe, but after insisting it should be 4k, they dropped it to 8k.
Tired of these situations in Africa, I decided to avoid dealing with dishonest people.
As I left, I took a pic of the river, and they audaciously asked for 1k for the photo. A total rip off.
Considering the dishonesty, I doubt the canoe and the village are even worth the initial 4k.

One of my favourite places in Benin - don’t miss this! The ride here is nice through the market (stop at the famous pork restaurant, also indicated on iOverlander). They asked us 10,000 each for the cano, guide and visit of the village. We told them we knew the price was 4k CFA and won’t pay anymore. They quickly agreed and we had a lovely time. The sodabi is massively overpriced (3x more than normal) but I bought half a litre of the fresh palm juice for 500 CFA instead of tipping the local woman for showing us the process and tasting. No need to leave crazy tips here and drive up prices, trust me your tip is factored into the prices if you buy sodabi. Met another traveler who only did the canou ride for 3,000 CFA as he didn’t want to pay 4,000. Think that’s a shame - don’t miss the village but make clear you know the prices!!

We have been directly to this location. They purposed us 25000 CFA for a tour on the river. At the end it was 15000... Finally we just enjoyed the beauty of the place without the tour.

Come check out the cute village of Adjarre and hop on a small river boat to another village where local women produce palm wine. We paid 4,000 francs for the boat and 2,000 to the local women.
