Great place! You can contact Jacobo at his new number: +255 788 297 627 and +255 672 318 347 on WhatsApp. I would recommend to contact him in advance to make sure someone is there. We didn’t and Jacobo made great efforts to make sure we were good and we got a nice dinner!

Masai run. $5 each for camping plus $5 each community contribution. Plus $4 each for the most delicious dinner. Highly recommend the cook. Basically we had basically a wild camp up the hill from the main infrastructure meaning toilet was quite a long way away. Not sure of water situation as we did not need any. Warm bucket of water is made for you to shower with. Great views, be aware of strong winds and wind direction if camping up the hill a little. There are flat sites in a small car park too which could be used for RTT. Owner was helpful and welcoming. Cook was fantastic. Nice space to chill and cheeky toile. Views of meru are brilliant.

Mukuru Eco-Tented Camp is a beautifully quiet place in the Maasai steppe. If you get up in the morning for sunrise, you can see Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru from a nearby hill in a stunning light! If the weather conditions are right, there's even a toilet in camp with a view of Kilimanjaro ;)
The current pricing and contact information can be found on the website www.mukurucamps.co.tz as well as the catalog full of activities! Super friendly staff and delicious food :)

Indeed looks like a very nice place to learn about the Maasai and it's very pleasant in bush atmosphere. But the first review is a bit misleading because there's not really a view of Kilimanjaro. The mountain was really showing off so we were looking specifically for a spot to camp with a Kili view. We left quite disappointed to Mountain's Hug Campsite which was another disappointment for a whole other reason. (Read review there.)

We stayed 3 nights. Perfect place learn about the Maasai culture. We hiked a lot and enjoyed the view to the 2 mountains. We payed 5US$pp.

Stayed here for one night only, but could've stayed longer. Super friendly people, very welcoming. Long drop toilets and bucket showers, but kept very clean. Only $5 pppn and you can take free coffee and time in the social area. Would definitely come back and stay longer.

Just passed by and visited for an hour or so. Impressive spot and very educational about the Maasai people and the history of the area.

The Mukuru Training Camp is run by the local masaai community. It is supported by the Italian NGO Oikos.
I slept in a very nice and spacious safari tent with two single beds. Bathroom is shared.
The dinner and breakfast were buffet and very delicious! They can help you organise also some excursions and activities.
After leaving the camp I went to Oldonjo to visit the local market (it occurs once a week).
