Description
It is easy to miss this free parking right at the entrance of Petra due to a sharp left turn right in front of a private parking. So during the day it tends to be less busy than the others in the area. We spent a quite night here. Some horses, donkeys and dogs around. Perfect if you want to visit Petra early in the morning (highly recommended). Toilets a few hundred meters away, only during opening hours. Huge rigs might struggle in the last sharp turn.

Slept here two nights without problems. Quiet in the night and the best place if you want to visit Petra in the early morning. Not very busy during the day at the moment (because of the Israel-crisis)…

Report Check-InPerfect place for the visit of petra. Spent 2 nights, everything was fine. People try to sell taxi service to the back end telling you its too much to walk. This is a lie, walking the whole distance there and back is easily doable.

The parking place is full during the day, but empty and quiet at night.
Clean toilets nearby at the entrance, good mobile connection.
Good place. No one bothered us. Road construction is still going on but the entrance to the parkinglot is open and wide enough also for big rigs. No problem any more.
And as already recommended go VERY early in the morning! Only a few other tourists and less souvenir bothering.
Opening is mentioned for 6am but this morning we had to wait till 6:30.

not very easy to reach this Parking, because of road works.
the last 200m is single way and dirt.
Convenient to stay for visiting Petra. We stayed two nights. Police checks during the day.
