Description

Beautiful park, very few people when we were there at the end of february. There are hikes of all lengths - from 0.5 km (yes!) up to 52 km/5 days hike. Good, modern facilities, hot shower, small restaurant. Kayak renting. We did the 16 km hike to Lago Chaiguaco and the 6 km hike at the first guardaparque, 20 km before (which was the nicest for us) and a few of the small hikes. There's a hot tub, too for 35 000 CLP, just amazing! We stayed for 1.5 hours and you're alone. Camping + park entrance was 25 000 CLP for 2 nights/2 persons and campervan. Watch out, bridges with 5 tons max! Road is veeery bad, needed 3 hours for 38 km. 4wd only needed with heavy rain.

Latest Check-Ins

Did a day trip to the park, 1k pesos entrance, everyone was super nice, the 17km lake hike took less than 4 hours, not much altitude around here so it makes for an easy walk. Driving in took less than an hour in a lifted suv, I don't think you need the 4x4 to get in as there aren't any difficult looking parts, but getting in is definitely nicer with a good suspension, on a street car it'll take quite a while as the entire road is all potholes. Overall very recommended, the park is nice and not busy at all.

Yup, the road to this place is really bad. However, it's a beautiful route through the forest! We had to pay 15000 CLP for 1 night in a van with 2 persons. We did the 17 km hike, which was an easy hike and took us about 5,5 hours. Beautiful place in the nature, but not very spectacular. Nice if you have some days left on the island before you go on the ferry for example.

Yes the road is bumpy, but we managed with our 2x4 with high clearance in 1,5 hours. But we even saw a little Kia arriving at the camping. Free hot showers are between electricity hours ( 7-11h and 19-23h). Free WiFi is also during these hours and when the sun is shining. We paid for a camper van spot two persons 6000 clp per night (low season price). They have a small store if you want to stay a day longer.

Peaceful natural sight. We did the lake hike (17 km return, 7.5 hours), rio yaldad (5 km, 3 hrs return) and the bosque hundido (6 km, 3-4 hrs return)

If you’ve been to other parks like villarica or pumalin, there is no spectacular view to be found here. But there’s wildlife like pudu deer and foxes, and the camping is cheap. 3k per person includes hot showers and there is internet at ranger station

Yes the internet can be used again when the generator is on (7-11 am and pm) as they have upgraded the internet and it is fast enough to share with guests

If you don’t have time, you can skip this park. We liked the nature and the fact that it is well priced for decent amenities

It seems like a nice place to visit, but with our 2WD van after 15 km we turned back. We were afraid to break something... The dust road is really really bad, going up and down all the time with a lot of rocks. We highly recommend going there only with 4WD.
