Historic abandoned rail station, quiet, arrived during the day slept one night. no problems. 5 min from here you you can visit the the space antennas (stop at the no trespass sign) good view from there.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Went up the road a bit and found a nice pull off. A few cars were headed to the installation, but we didn't talk to anyone. Slept great. Excellent view. Very quiet. Just spent the night.
Report Check-InGreat view of the mountains, windy,as mentioned, but a nice spot for the night.
Report Check-InOld rail station - great space around back that is level and away from the road. Only down side being the wind. We had a RTT and the wind all night was causing a lot of noise due to the fly, etc. Keep going back and you will find a small grove of trees that you may be able to camp in. that would shield from the wind a bit. Otherwise, this is a perfect one night camp spot. The views are amazing...stars at night and mountains all around!
Report Check-InWe are in a 35ft skoolie, not stealth at all. We may have had a knock this morning, we girlfriend was bothered by a sound and the cats were looking outside, but if we did it was probably just someone visiting the rail station and was curious about the bus.
So many spots to choose from, most of them are straight up paved which is cool.
Far enough off the road that you don't hear much, plus this highway is not busy at all.
Almost full att bars.
And then yeah go look at the satellite array. It's cool.
Report Check-InGood for a night. wouldn't recommend letting dogs off leash there's glass and rusty metal everywhere. no cell service, att will tease you with a few bars but they don't work
Report Check-InNice view, quiet sleep, easy access and plenty of space/level ground. Full bars on AT&T and Mint mobile.
If you’re with a dog, watch out there is lots of glass around the actual train station building (or what’s left of it), you might consider parking a bit further up the road or behind the station to avoid an expensive vet visit :-)
All you need for a good night sleep!
We parked on a large and level asphalt pad next to the old railroad station ruins. no signs that prohibit camping here. there are Los Angeles water authorities signs prohibiting camping along the nearby river, but not here. wide open space lots of room for rigs of any size. fantastic views of the mountains.
Report Check-InWe parked on a level large asphalt pad next to the ruins of the railroad station. no signs whatsoever here that camping is not allowed or that this is Los Angeles water authority land. We did see Los Angeles water authority no camping signs at the river but not at the old railroad Depot site. five stars but for some reason I cannot change the star rating.
Report Check-InClosed to camping. Was woken early Saturday morning by Las Angeles gas and water who informed us of this. Head into the foothills for BLM camping
Report Check-InLots of spots to stop and spend a day or two in the middle of nowhere. No trees for shade though and no services except a good cell signal.
