Something not right?

Description

19 sites, some with river views. First come/first serve with the checkout time at noon. Some road noise but nothing too bad. Free in the off-season only and only vault toilets (no water).

It's tight with a 42' 5th wheel, but worth it. Ok Verizon service and marginal AT&T.

this campground is wonderful!! it's free and we were alone . we will come back

Report Check-In

Not too much to add, but still FCFS and free. We arrived around 4:30 on a Saturday and got a spot, I don't think it filled up tonight.
Nice area and a few options to walk from here.

Report Check-In

Came during off season so currently it’s free till May 20th 2024 (I checked recreation.gov). Pit toilets are pretty clean and are serviced still by forest rangers so there is toilet paper and hand sanitizer inside (wear a light though) and potable water spigots all over the camp. Stayed at site 13. Backed our jeep into the right side for our roof tent and it was pretty flat. Picnic table and bear can at site. Currently there is a bear safe dumpsters (Garbage truck is still picking it up too we saw them this morning) and a recycling area. Please clean up after yourselves so this site stays clean during off season.

Report Check-In

Free in the off season with no services other than vault toilets. It seemed to fill up before 4 pm on a Friday in October

Beautiful campground but spots aren’t first come, first served.

what an incredible campsite. can't believe it's free. we snagged site 19 and loved every minute. pit toilets, trash cans, and decent/private sites.
don't miss ladder creek falls hike - fun, short, and unique.

Report Check-In

Still winter season so still free. Several sites are beside the river. All are heavily treed, most pretty flat. No services, but pit toilets are open. 2 bars Verizon.

Report Check-In

Nice place to stay. Closed and free to use beginning Oct for winter season. Not serviced after meaning no water, toilets not serviced and so on.
Entirely shaded and very damp/moist. Right on the river and it was full of Salmon!
I didn't enjoy this side of the park as much as the East side however. Great location to camp though.

Nice campground. 19 sites, about 7 of which are river front. Steelhead and trout galore. Didn’t catch ‘em but never saw so many before.

Was told by someone (hearsay) that these sites are reservable for a fee online through Labor Day. After that no reservations .Always first come first served for non reserved sites. Loved it here.

Report Check-In

Had a quiet night at the Flyers Brewery for Harvest Hosts in Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island, WA last night (if anyone wants more info or pics of that....message me). The area was jammed packed with people getting outdoors. So, Took Rt. 20 East to the North Cascades National Park, even though I knew the road was still closed at the passes due to snow cover. I was more than happy to get away from everyone saturating the coast and and alot of folks have told me what a beautiful, jaw dropping ride it is up to the mountains. Spoke to some locals when I filled up my propane tank (yes its still cold up here) and they said they have heard the pass will be open this Wed or Thursday, so I may just hang out around this area and wait. It's a beautiful area, Lake Diablo and it's stunning clear turquoise colored water is right up the road and 2 other NP campgrounds are open or partially open on this side of the pass...and are free to stay in till May 15th and are first come first served!! I'm at Goodall Creek Campground, in a spacious spot (18), right on the pristine Skagit River. What a spot. I'm even getting a little production from my solar! Old growth, moss covered forest everywhere....just as you would expect it to look like in Washington State. Campground is pretty much empty, even though there are only 19 spots. After May 15, you can reserve online and of course pay the fee...which I think is 20 bucks a night. Most spots look level, but some definitely aren't and some are very small best suited for tents. If you have a big 40' rig...you are likely going to be out of luck...maybe only 1 or 2 spots would fit ya. Saw a couple fresh water fill stations, couple pit toilets 🚻, boat launch and a community day use picnic area. There was also 1 large handicapped pull through campsite. Each site has a picnic table, 🔥 ring and 🐻 📦. VZW is a steady 3 bars of 4G and no issues with the internet. AT&T on the other hand is at 1 bar, and internet access is sketchy. No TV at all. No radio either.

Place was wonderful to stay at, got some local firewood from Marblemount from a man named Doug who sold the organic firewood. Having the water next to us was good

This is a great place! Arrive early to secure a spot. I got a spot at 8am! Stayed here 3 nights. It’s currently free. It’s on a beautiful creek and it’s peaceful and the ranger was so nice! I’d love to stay here again!

This is a very nice campground that is right on the Skagit river. We came at 10am on a Wednesday to snag a site that fit our 42' 5th wheel really well. We had access to a small beach on the river. This is dry camping with water available in various locations along the campground road. There are also pit toilets available.

Each site had a picnic table and fire pit. The sites vary in size, but are spaced apart a reasonable distance. There are two loops that we were able to drive down with our 5th wheel. It was fairly quiet at night with moderate traffic during the day. The key is to come early and look at the tags on the sites. Each day a ranger comes around and writes the stay dates on a dry erase tag that is attached to the site post.

The Verizon service was marginal and barely enough for a video call. It worked, but was not ideal for heavy internet use even with an extender.

I highly recommend staying here as it was beautiful! The Gorge Powerhouse is a couple minutes up the road in New Halem. The closest services are in Marblemount which is about 20 minutes south.

sweet spot. right by the river. FREE on a first come first serve basis so they can fill quickly, and not sure for how long. group sites are closed.

Report Check-In

21 sites, some with river views. First come/first served. Checkout time is noon. Some road noise but nothing too bad. Currently free!! Id say you should be under 30’ for this place and that would be tight. Good Verizon service. Just ok AT&T.
