National Forest Campground with a creek running through. Two miles up a bumpy gravel road to get there, but sweet once you get there. 23 sites which tend to be spacious. Pit toilets well-vented so they didn’t smell. In summer, it’s a nice cooler counterpoint to the Hell’s Canyon area. About 20 minute drive to the posh lake town of McCall where good beer and grub is in ample supply.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
FYI — From the Forest Service website, “The road to Last Chance Campground (Goose Creek Road-50453) will be closed near Highway 55 beginning July 8, and will be closed into October. The campground will be closed during the road closure and bridge construction project.”
Report Check-InRoad in is narrow in some places with steep drop offs; great spot with hiking trails from campground. Really pleasant setting. campground host Jill is very friendly and helpful. $10 single, $15 double.
Report Check-InNot closed. This is a great campground, the spaces are nice and spread out. I had one bar LTE off and on with T-Mobile, my friends had a few more bars (not sure which service). You can hear the creek at most sites and the pit toilets are clean and stocked. $5-15 per site while we were here depending on if you had a pass.
Report Check-InAmazing little campground off the beaten path. Pit toilets kept so clean and fresh. Very quiet other than the creek. camp host Dusty is doing an outstanding job here. It's a couple miles off the highway. Road is bumpybut clear.
Report Check-InThis is a nice US Forest Service campground. Only $10 per nite with new clean pit toilets in two places. There is also a trail near by for some mtbing.
