First restaurant we found a cross the Chile border. Can pay in ARG pesos. No menu, but they'll make whatever sandwich you want.

We had the menu del día and it was simple but delicious. Soup and a stew with a flan like dessert. Also a bottle of vino blanco de Chile, un agua mineral y un café para 17,000 pesos Chilean. We paid with our Visa credit card. Nice place with super warm charming service. I recommend especially after the border crossing where the Chileans steal your food. Grrrrr....
Report Check-InThis place is not frequented by overlanders, but by truck drivers and road workers, who will eat whatever is on the menu.
It has an informal family atmosphere, the dining room is adjacent to the family kitchen.
We used one of the rooms in the back, for 24000 pesos (2 persons). Far from spotless, with worn sheets and a bathroom floor that needs repair. But the shower was piping hot, and the mattresses reasonable.
We slept here because camping in our roof tent in these winds was no option.

Report Check-InWonderful place to stay over night, warm welcome, served a big piece of meat and salad plus large drink for 6000CLP, 12000CLP for one person in a two bed room including breakfast, all of that homemade, shower was hot but watch the time because there might be a boiler behind you empty over the time, would return with pleasure ... would be hard to find something better at this price
Report Check-InHostel and restaurant. One of the best Chilean meals we've had (6,000 pesos). rooms were 12,000 per person and warm. nice host family and small, well stocked attached store.
