Description

Level site just off the highway, easy for a night driving I 80. A little busy with passing cars and semis throughout the night but not too bad. Easy entry off the highway and could be managed by any car. Verizon had 3 bars

lovely spot last night. not too much road noise. no other cars camped. could be further down the road for more privacy just check the BLM land map

Report Check-In

We're back to this interesting spot. Still safe and quiet. No biting flies, maybe it has gotten too cold for them. (mid September).
Verizon at an astounding 171 Mbps.

We continued on just a little past the coordinates on the dirt "road". Quiet spot where you can't hear the road at all. Full 5 bars Verizon with exceptionally fast internet. Lots of biting flies. Gorgeous sunset and beautiful mountain views. OK place to bring a dog but beware the biting flies. Road is pretty sketchy and don't attempt it if it has rained.

What a strange spot. Beautiful in some ways, with wide open space and arroyos, yet so close to the road where the speed limit is 70 MPH. Big Rigs coming through shook the van. Fortunately I heard none after 10:00 p.m., but by 4:00 a.m. they started up and in the dark, felt like they were coming right at me.
Easy to get to. The other descriptions are very accurate. If you stay here, I'd suggest pulling down the awkward, rutted "ramp" and go farther back. It is level, hard (unless it has recently rained) and will make your overnight so much better being a bit away from the road.

stayed a night comfortably. easy entrance off the road. Google maps brings you right to it. some noise from passing trucks and there are free range cattle nearby.

Report Check-In

Perfect spot for those passing through the area; level and close enough to the highway. Fairly quiet - occasional cars passing by. Cool arroyo right there as well. GREAT Verizon coverage. Only con were biting horse flies in the area so those with dogs beware.

Easy pull off of I80 with limited traffic on CR45. Only parked maybe 50 yards from road and it was plenty of distance. Wide open space for a quiet night to sleep in our van. Any vehicle can make it here when dry and hard. Some wet and muddy spots to avoid and probably a no go when wet. Great Verizon service. Go past guard rails and it’s easy to find the turn off on the right.

Late night pull off. Wide open space. Beautiful. Very quiet. Other campers across the road revealed in morning. Take Baxter Road exit then right in mid-Baxter road. On right 1.1 mikes from mid-Baxter Rd turn in right after arroyo guardrails. Also camping just before this on left about 150 yards back from road. I’m daylight lots of road and places to explore. I’m sure there are some cool places. Rare and airport noise. Good pit stop.

I think I found this place, take a left from i80 just over where the guard rail ends. Everywhere to the left is blm land. We stayed about 100 yards from the road on a flat spot. Didn’t wanna go all the way to that other site. We had awesome service and only one or two cars drove by. Lots of coyote scat and we found their den not to far away, open range also so you might find a friend or two

Report Check-In

We went just a little beyond the GPS coordinates of this spot and found a road into BLM. We ended up parking at the front of the road since it’s winter and we didn’t see anyone else around. Stayed for two nights, very windy area but nice and quiet.
