Description

Big Bay Recreation site. At least 6 spots with picnic tables and fire pits. Follow signs to Loveland Bay, small sign for Big Bay around km7 sign(I think). Beautiful quiet free spot. Biggest drawback is that it is shady throughout. That can also be a bonus on some days. There is a pit toilet and a place you could launch a small boat and there is a dock(of sorts).

Big campsite with quite a few spots. All first come first serve so it’s hard to find a spot in the summer. My buddies and I went for new years and found ourselves to be the only ones there. Fire rings, tables, out houses, and a questionable homemade dock are all here. Great camping spot if you can snag a site

We came back and the main road in has definitely worsened in condition - lots of washboarding. Still doable in a 2wd but just unpleasant with a camper full of stuff!

Report Check-In

stayed again because we liked it so much. a very relaxing place and fish to be caught!

Report Check-In

lovely rec site. roads in are OK for 2wd, would recommend high clearance or going very slowly for the last 2km.
about 6 sites. on a hot Saturday start of season was full but empty on Sunday night. lovely spot, pit toilets, jetty for Lake, closest free rec site to town.

Really nice Place. About 10km on Dirt and Gravel Roads. First Stretch not too bad. After about 7km you turn onto a forest service road. A rough patch of larger gravel and then back on dirt road for approx. 1km with deep potholes. (Roughest part). 2WD no problem, but high clearance definitely a plus. Though, some locals made it in their Honda Accord…🤷🏼

Quiet, beautiful spot on the lake. Had the site to ourselves overnight, though a handful of day visitors came up to walk dogs etc. Stayed for three nights.

keep going! This is the worst of the Forest service sites out this way. There are lots. (from a local)

This place is great! It rained the whole time while I was there, but I could imagine it in the summer...right on the water, with a dock and private fire pit for each site, I could definitely see spending a week or more there.

About 7 sites, few pit toilet, alone and quiet. Best site just by the lake.
