This little trail head is located right on Route 17. Nice level spot, with packed dirt and gravel. There is a picnic table available. The highway is a little noisy in the evening, but becomes pretty quiet at night, for the most part. The trail looks nice to walk if you have time. Nice spot for an overnight between Charlotte and Savannah.

As described before, very noisy. We weren't disturbed other than the traffic noise!
Report Check-InNoisy from highway and train and fine for a night. Enjoyed the nature trail.
Report Check-InI agree with Jessica. The highway noise is too much. Ir’s worse in the morning and starts very early…
Report Check-InGood spot right off the highway. I recommend using earplugs and an eye mask to reduce sound and light for sleep.
Report Check-InNot a great spot if road noise bothers you. Small lot but it worked for us. Arrived at 6pm and left around 11am. No issues. Trash cans and a picnic table. Sometimes it's just nice to not be at another Walmart.
Report Check-InBon endroit pour dormir. La route est proche et un peu bruyante.
Départ de ballade
Trail head off of 17. I arrived here around 10:30pm and there was one other vehicle here. It was completely dark no lights other than headlights from traffic. The traffic was not busy during the night. A few cars would pass every so often. I slept like a baby here. It is now 9am next morning and I’m getting ready to leave. I had no issues parking and sleeping over night here. I have straight talk and I have 3 bars here.
Report Check-InIf it weren’t for the noise from the traffic on 17, this would be a perfect spot. There was no one else there during the time I stayed here. But the traffic is nonstop all night and it’s pretty loud. I didn’t sleep well at all and ended up leaving before dawn because I couldn’t sleep anyhow. If noise doesn’t bother you, it’s great.
Report Check-InPrevious reviews are correct about traffic. I got in around midnight and there were still a decent amount of cars but not enough to keep me up. No ambient light except from headlights. A lot of space in the parking area, even a picnic table, too. No one bothered me, another car drove in and out around 6 am. Really good spot!
Report Check-InReally great location right off the highway & near a gas station. Kind of noisy at night near the highway, but no one bothered us. Only saw one other hiker around 9 the next morning. The trail itself is about a mile long, a nice little stroll!
Report Check-InAs described. No issues. Did have some road noise, but parking with the trees between us and the road helped a bit. Nice picnic table. A couple RVs came by in the morning and we saw a few hikers and metal detectors during our day and night there. Planned to do the trail, but it was flooded (after tons of rain, so expected).
