You can camp anywhere on the Solar de Uyuni, but Isla Pescador is probably your best bet. Not to be confused with Isla Pescado, the more popular destination for tour groups. You can stay on Pescado, but it's not a friendly place for tent campers and is likely to be crowded in the afternoon. However, there are bathrooms and trash facilities available, whereas Pescador has nothing. We spent the entire day and night without seeing another soul. We recommend camping around the back side of the island so you'll have a view of the sunset.

We camped out on the salt itself, on the west side of the island. Beautiful sunset stretching out over the salt in front of us. Really unique to spend the day on the salt! Also hiked to top of the Island for a view all the way to Isla Incahuasi.
Report Check-InGreat place for motorcyclist with tent. We had no wind here and it's much warmer than at salt flats . Had 17 degrees here and 7 at the salt flats.
Report Check-InDrove into the island near the northern end and camped near a small rock wall enclosure facing the east side of the island. Good protection on a very windy day.
Report Check-InBeautiful views and wind protection! We loved staying here and had the place to ourselves. We left a picture in the sand out of rocks, you should do the same!
Report Check-InReally nice place, totally quiet. We camped behind the corner near a Wind protection cliff. Awesome Sunset, awesome full moon, awesome view from the top of the isla.
We even found some dead cactoe for a well smelling fire.
We found a nice Little Rock wind break, though the wind wasn't bad. One of my best sunsets and starts at night... Wow!
Report Check-InWe camped on the northwest side of Isla Pescador and although it was a bit windy we did have the place entirely to ourselves and a beautiful sunset. No amenities except a few fire pits.
Report Check-InArguably one of the most stunning places to pitch a tent, Isla Pescador makes a fantastic location to spend a night or two whilst exploring the Salar. On the north side of the island there is a low crest where you can camp to see both sunrise and set, but we had to move camp to a nearby rocky enclave to escape the driving winds.
