Description

To get here, you have to follow about 2km along a small bumpy track. You will find a very nice flat place on the shore of the small "river". There is a small waterfall and pool (not sure whether this is a permanent waterfall). The landscape looks like "badlands" because of the erosion and is very scenic. Also the small canyon. You can hike to the upper viewpoint.
This zone is generally Himba land and here are Himba living almost next to this site. (Sept 2023)

Really nice idyllic place. Very hot in early September. Almost no shade. Himba and goats around the corner. We still decided to stay as they did not seem to be worried about us.
Water is warm. No crocodile as far as we can tell. No mtc.

Report Check-In

Very nice flat and sandy area by the river which was very low when we got there. But still enough water to see a slim water fall pouring into the pool. We didnt have a swim because we were not sure about crocs hidding into the muddy water thought.
Excellent spot on our way to the Angolese border before we refill supplies in Otoupi.
Nothing very challenging to come here but, we put twice the L4 on, on the rocky 2 km long road leading here.

Amazing place. we loved it. we saw some himbas during the day, didnt speak to us. quiet night with plenty of stars and beautiful sunset. waterfall and river, we didnt swim because of the crocodile stories but took water in the river. perfect for one, 2, 3 nights ;-)

Locals DO come here to fish and he was surprised to see us. There is carp in the pond by the waterfall. White guy and himba girl. Himba tribes apparently reported that a crocodile ate one of their goats here last week so maybe swimming isn’t the best idea. Great spot though to chill in the shallows. No MTC. Local was surprised and perhaps a little sad that this spot is known but if we all keep it clean they will be happy

This zone is generally Himba land ...but we saw absolutely nobody. Very quiet!
