The first 2 miles are camping in designated sites only There are six, very nice places. Past that was dispersed camping for several miles with wide open spaces and trees, great for rigs of all sizes and tents. The designated sites are set off from the access road 100-200 feet for nice privacy. Only one had a rutted entry and all are very nice, very pretty, surrounded by tall pines, secluded, and very quiet. There are six easy 1-2 mile trails that go out to the canyon. Most sites are usable by big rigs. Part of the gravel road from Norwood was minor washboard but not a big concern. Go south from Norwood on Aspen 1 mile then right. Follow signs to Thunder Trails. Coordinates entered are approximate. We rate this a 4.5 when dry.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
The coordinates written are in southern Idaho near residential homes; the actual location is somewhere in Colorado.

Report Check-InThis "location" posted by waltbx is wrong on many levels! I went to the location/coordinates listed and there is no camping! The coordinates are just in the middle of the road! Furthermore, further research shows the pictures are from a location in Colorado, while the map coordinates are in Utah! I thought these listings were suppose to be vetted!? Needless to say, these major errors were very disappointing for a weary traveler looking to get off I84 in Utah at the end of a long day of travel. Please correct this losing iOverlander and waltbx!!! look
