Great area, well worth the drive up the washboard trail to here. This is not the only spot in this area. If it is taken, look around for lots nice spots. Try further ahead, or try turning right at this junction, there are some nice spots 100m down the trail on the high ground with great views.

Definitely go all the way back! Much less crowded! I didn’t need to engage 4x4 in dry conditions, but it wouldn’t hurt to have it in the event rain is expected. High Clearance would also be good, depending on which side road you venture onto. 2 bars Verizon LTE and Starlink worked beautifully.
Report Check-InOur 2nd time to this area. Our site has a cool small cave in rocks w/fire pit. Stayed a week. Great hiking. Beautiful full moon w/lots of stars...and lots of lizards too!
