Awesome spot to park and enjoy sunset and great stars at night. Super quite and safe with the guard next door. Parked here before taking the western route up to the top of Barú. The route is very strenuous and you should take a good topo map with you, but also a great hike. Tigo LTE signal.

no more overnight parking allowed, police & ranger close the area every day at 5pm. In addition the Trail can only be accessed with a guide now.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot with no facilities but great views, awesome nature and nice hiking in front of your door.
We did not want to do the big hike to the summit but had a great time just roaming around the various trails inside the park.
There is always a ranger in charge, they do seven day shifts in the guard house and both rangers we encountered were friendly and helpful.
