The noted campground is not accessible right now due to a road closure, which a sign noted as seasonal due to snow/ice hazards. However, there are a few pull offs before the closure. Not particularly level, but legit spots to overnight. I stayed at “The Lookout” for two nights and enjoyed easy access to a few hikes. The camping spot is on the left, about a mile past the Carr House building - coordinates 31°26'21.2"N 110°16'55.0"W.
Warning that both evenings, I was joined by cars of teenagers who went to the overlook to do what we they do as the sun set. Not particularly private, but they left me and the dog alone. I’m the visitor in their neighborhood, after all. The camp hosts, who were staying in an RV at the Carr House were chatty and kind.
Report Check-InI stopped at a spot before it the location on the map. The road has pulloffs which are nice for free camping
