Lake is owned by the local mining company and leased to the State of New Mexico. Stocked with fish, lots of folks here trying their luck. Flat area on the west site of the lake for all sizes of RVs and/or tents. Room on the east side of the lake for smaller RVs and tents. Three bars of Verizon 4G

Stayed here late April a couple other people campaign around there is signal on t - mobile in a couple spots but the more most private spots are on the other side of lake without signal and unlike previous reviews lake is definitely small but not super small and most definitely not a pond also this lake has pretty good fishing right from your spot in most places, definitely a pleasant little place I'll be back again!

Let’s say that this is a pond. If you want to call it a lake, let’s say that it is small. Very small. It’s a Beautiful little pond with a decent view and some nice spots with fire rings. The issue here, at Bill Evans Pond, is the constant noise of competing generators all night from those coming to enjoy the serenity of nature. What I also found interesting was the guy who drove up at 10pm to his parked trailer on the beach, ran his generator all night, and then departed at 630 AM. Arrive in the dark and leave in the dark…Breaking Bad, anyone???
Had no Bars of internet on the north end of lake and a skunk that came to us during our night fire.
A beautiful lake to enjoy. Expect BLM/Forest Ranger to check for your New Mexico Fishing License with Habitat Stamp.
It was big enough to accommodate my 40'+tow.
It is very peaceful and quiet during the night and throughout the week activity picks up, somewhat, and is popular on weekends.
I made a video here, which you can watch here:

Yes, the sign ON THE OTHER SIDE of the lake (not at the entrance) says one person in your party (up to 4 persons) has to have the habitat stamp (HVAC). I think it is the same stamp as the one you buy when purchasing a fishing license. So not everyone needs to buy it, just 1 person.
Nice lake, saw someone with 4 trout, lots of overflowing trash bins, and rock fire rings. Water is a pretty Aqua-ish color.
Report Check-InWe didn't go all the way to the lake- there are lots of pull offs from the paved road with fire rings by the Gila River. Quiet, nobody bothered us. Some pull outs do have no trespassing signs so don't stay at these ones.
Report Check-InRanger came by, and said I had to purchase a habitat stamp in order to stay. It costs $10. 1-2 bars of straight talk LTE. Gets fairly busy on weekends, but people seem friendly. Lots of ducks, and great views.
