Like previous report, this spot is inaccessible due to two large washouts a few hundred feet from the road. It’s still possible to back in or back out and park on the road next to the washout - which is what I’m doing.

Report Check-InSevere washout 200 ft down this turnout. I assume from the huge rainstorm in August 2023 that was national news. My 4x4 F150 had zero chance of proceeding so I reversed and went further up the paved road in search of a usable spot. Found one a couple minutes away.
Report Check-InI got about a mile away and turned around. The road is nice till the last mile and then even in my Ford econoline I turned around. I ended up going to the rest stop just up the road and hoping I didn't do any serious damage to my rig. I am not sure if this is marked correctly or not but definitely not accessible to lager rigs and no turn arounds or camps before hand from what I saw.
Report Check-InGreat spot, beautiful views of the mountains, and independence looks cool lit up at night.
Report Check-InI like this place. Far enough from the main Highway to not hear the noise. Smells like sage. I’m in a Honda Odyssey minivan and had no issues to drive here. There’s a dirt road that ends in a bigger area, could probably fit 4,5 small cars easily if it’s a bigger group. Just a few minutes outside of the town of Independence
Report Check-InNice spot if you want good cell data and mountain views. Large turnaround suitable for large rigs.
Report Check-InThere are several clearings to camp on in this BLM land just west of Independence. Great cell service for all carriers in the BLM area, but as you get closer to the mountain you lose reception.
Great views of the mountains, very quiet and peaceful.
No amenities.
