Something not right?

Description

Drove up one of the service roads and found a spot right away. Doesn't seem very used but there's some old tracks from where people might've gotten stuck when it was wet up here over the winter. There's still snow on the roads and a bit of mud but it wasn't an issue with a 2WD Sprinter. It's very flat and we didn't see anyone until around eleven. I'm getting Verizon LTE with two bars but it's not enough to use very effectively.

Sign says no camping and the GOS coordinates. Went a little further down the road and saw another van camping but many signs that say no camping.

Report Check-In

New "no camping" signs posted here and at other sites along this road. I called forest service and they said the roads just off of 89, Truckee to Sierraville, are off limits. But dispersed camping is ok 2 miles in on forest road 450 and highway 7 going toward Jackson Meadows. I went with 450.

dry, unlike other spots along the roads back here! found a lovely, level spot under the trees without driving very far (in our 2WD). strung up some hammocks and enjoyed the peaceful woods.

Tried to find at 10pm couldn't find the pull off. Ended up going to the first spot off sage creek road

Quiet, clean and accessible. Didn’t go too far down the road and found a flat ish spot to both park and set up tent. Lovely sleep :))
