Description

Fantastic spot in the woods next to the Trinity River. Someone was occupying the other spot near here marked on iOverlander and so we came here! This is just one spot alongside 3 or 4 others that can be reached by a short, steep road (not marked on google maps) on the right side of E Forks Rd. Our e250 van made it down fine, no 4wd necessary, but I would recommend high clearance because there is one pretty big drop off in the short, unmarked road as it switches from pavement to gravel. You’re right next to the river and there’s a deep pool here for swimming. No cell service or amenities. Established fire rings. Not appropriate for RVs or big rigs.

Latest Check-Ins

I stayed two nights here before and after dayhiking Canyon Creek Lakes Trail (highly recommended). It was flat, quiet other than the river, had a fire ring, and starlink worked great. No cell reception.

Report Check-In

Nice quiet spot to stay. There was a couple fire rings, and enough space for a few cars if you’re traveling with a group. The road wasn’t too rough, and manageable without high clearance or 4WD, but may be difficult if there has been a lot of rain.

River bed camp site, small fire pit, no bathrooms. Used as day area but everyone leaves in the evening. No fee, 14 day max camping. Very quiet no one else around. Short drive up E Fork road, pass some abandoned historic houses. Plenty of other spots up the road by the river if you keep driving. Please pack out what you bring in. Passed this spot on the way in because the lot was full. Driving back out the road we noticed everyone was leaving, checked it out again and it was fully open.
