Description

McCarthey Boat Ramp is quiet and secluded. There is plenty of space for our 37' RV. A few Boaters came in and launched their boats of course but we had no issue. If you come in the right season you will be able to get all the blackberries you could fit in your rig. *edit added 2024* no rv parking no overnight parking sign recently added at entrance

new "no rv parking" sign at the entrance. still a nice quiet spot, can probably get away with it a couple nights, just be ready to get a knock

Great stay, quiet. No signs saying no camping or overnight parking. Did see a sign for no parking after dusk. There is a toilet and garbage can. Would recommend over the Peoria Boat Launch.

Does have a “closed at dusk” sign but it was late and needed a place for the night. Had no issues parking there overnight with our transit van. Beautiful river spot and lots of blackberries.

Friends, the entrance sign here clearly says “No Camping”. Whether that means tents, vehicles or both, I couldn’t say. But we didn’t stay.

Report Check-In

Nice and secluded. One bathroom. I believe the 'closed at dusk' is referring to the dock itself. There are no signs that say "No Camping" or anything. I had no issues at all.

The signage at this spot says it closes at dusk. It’s a very small town, so you could probably get away with parking overnight but I don’t think you’re supposed to. We decided to not risk it.

Report Check-In

Just for clarity / those who it would bother, at the entrance it does say it closes at dusk. That being said it was a very nice spot, one other van. Nice bathroom, a bit of cell service, friendly locals.

Seems like it wouldn't be a problem to stay as long as you don't look like trouble.
