Description

Established campground in Denali, $29 a night + tax (33,25). Must stay minimum 3 nights if you want to bring a private vehicle in since it is past the point where private vehicles are allowed — you get a permit to drive your car in the day of check in. You are only allowed to drive your car out the day of check out — you park and your car stay parked until you leave. From campground, you can get on Tek buses/shuttles to go farther into the park (must purchase separately). These buses also pick up from the park entrance. Campground is really clean and well maintained — firepits and tables at each site. Sites are pretty well apart with trees giving privacy, You can still hear most sites, but you don’t feel packed in like a sardine. Pit toilets, bear storage, potable water, and dish cleaning station available. There are about ~70 total sites, you reserve online, but you pick your spot when you arrive. Can fit up to 40feet RV/campers, generators allowed between certain hours specified by campsite. There is a dump at the Riley Creek where dump and get fresh water for RV. No water at Teklinikah campground to fill RV tanks, just jugs.

Nice little site with easy access to the Transit Bus that will take you to the East Fork which is as far as you can go until 2026 due to a landslide. We booked the Tec pass online and picked up at the check-in. This allowed us multiple trips to the East Fork. Managed to see Mt Denali all 3 days from the drive.

Report Check-In

Don’t miss the Tek camping experience. Ride the bus around, go hiking, sit by the River. The Ranger programs were excellent, the bathrooms clean.

Report Check-In

The drive to the campground especially in the evening is awesome. The campground is also well maintained and clean but don‘t expect a quiet retreat in nature. There are plenty of big rigs which run there generators 6 hours per day. That was really annoying.

Report Check-In

Very nice campground. Clean restrooms with Pit Toilets and sanitizer. Bear prof trash and recycling. No services but plenty of wonderful Hiking and Great view of Denali Mountain for the last two days!

we booked 6 weeks before, nice campground, quite, nr 13 best views to the river, clean, nice ranger Talk in the evening 7.30pm, lucky to get every day a seat in the Bus (every 30min) to east end for nice walks and views, not much animals, 3 days minimum, unfortunaly many spaces are empty (30%), some people leave earlier or paid but didnt come in, no waitinglist System for free spaces, that is very bad

Report Check-In

It is spelled Teklanika.
Reservations required, no walk up.
Three night minimum unless you do not drive here, then there is no minimum.
once you arrive, you cannot move your vehicle outside of the campground. You can switch sites however, as reservations are not site- specific

The facts stated previously are correct. You can get a ticket to ride the bus out the remainder of the remaining 43 miles. But you can ride the bus back to the visitor center with out buying a new bus pass. The pass is valid for as long as you are camping at Tecklinikah. When you purchase ticket you can guarantee one time when you will have a seat on the bus. The bus allows hop on and hop off as many times as you want while camping. You are allowed to hike anywhere but you near bear spray.
