Huge gravel lot right off the highway. Dirt road continues south from here and likely has more options for sleeping further from the road but I didn’t explore that direction. Good AT&T service. Great sunset views

Large gravel lot (not paved) a couple hundred yards from I-70. Exit 175, turn south, and go a short distance to the first left, and the lot is right there—it was easy for us to find, even in the dark. This appears to be an OHV staging area on the edge of a wide swath of BLM land. The surface seems solid, at least on the west side, and I wouldn't worry too much about it when it rains. Little used; our 23' van was the only rig there overnight on a Tuesday night in April, though a semi arrived in the morning. The freeway is far enough that, though you can hear it, it's very muted. There's also a railroad track on the other side of the freeway, and a couple of trains did pass and blow their horns at the crossing. Strong Verizon signal. No other services. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and amazing starry nights.
Report Check-InThis was a great option for us tonight and the description is spot on accurate. Rain is in the forecast and this spot is paved so I don’t need to worry about getting stuck. Fairly quiet too.
