Mirador Pucará de Copaquilla | Tourist Attraction

This is the mirador Copaquilla. From here you can follow a small track to your right to the pucará / fortress. Follow the cairns. Also nice views into the canyon and to the village Copaquilla. We only had a coffee here, too much traffic noise to sleep.

Yes it,s a very nice mirador and a good view into the vally, and to the lost city down there. We stayed overnight, it was some times a bit noisy, but if you are tired than it's o.k.

The village down there offers nice spots to camp. Wild camp, that is. You can drive down dirt road A-141 until you reach the village at 2900 m height. No dogs = No people living here.

500 trucks a day ply the Arica - La Paz route, so you cant avoid them completely. The said, this spot was peaceful enough and felt very safe. Great place to acclimatise.

Beautiful spot. Cars passing by on the main road, but quiet enough to enjoy it. Amazing view!

Parking lot at viewpoint just next to the CH11. Amazing view over the Valle de Lluta. If you look to your right from the viewpoint you see low walls made out of stones, this is the Pucará de Copaquilla. Make sure you take a walk here, even better views! Google told us the walls were built in the 12th century, pretty amazing. If you can pitch a tent in one of the 'chambers' you hit the view-jackpot. So beautiful. Parking lot is closer to the road than the nearby truckstop, but as trucks are not allowed to park here we found it much better. Even if you are not staying, take a break here! The mirador is slightly more west than the map says, don't know why it doesn't get the location right.
